From the puppet craftsmanship, i bet the Robinson's adverts were done by the [original] Spitting Image team

I live in the Uk and I think the more down to earth and sentimental type ads for McDonalds are more common here. I remember a recent one (late 2010s ish?) where this boy and his dad go to a McDonald’s after a football match or something.

The Robinson's bottle are what we in the UK would call 'squash', but is strictly speaking cordial, which needs diluting with water to create a drink. The lunchbox sized cartons actually in the adverts are a ready-to-drink 'juice drink', which is probably just the same thing but already diluted for you. I honestly assumed that Peperami had come across from the US, but apparently they are actually made in Germany. They are a form of beef jerky, not peperoni, and in the US you apparently have the same thing from the same German company, but under the name BiFi, which apparently even use the same adverts with just the brand name switched.

If you thought the ads for Confused.com were the weirdest British ads, then you haven't seen these ads that are much weirder.

1:10 I actually do have an Uncle Gary. He’s not like the Media Mementos described, but I just found that kind of interesting.

Not soft breath - the sweets were soft and chewy

Exactly. As opposed to the two major brands of mints in the UK up to that point, Polo and Trebor Extra Strong, which were both very hard solid sweets that needed sucking or crunching, as did generic mints like Mint Imperials and Glace Mints.

I was expecting nothing but black as like a joke about the McDonald's commercial since it took a little while to show up
