Honestly with create drilling I rather do a full quarry miner rather than a runner boar because big quarry machines get other stuff like ALOT more ores and blocks for building where you can get HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of building blocks that are REALLY nice

instead of worrying about missed block columns and reducing speed, you can just make the rail not a small 3x3 circle, but a longer rectangle shape, like 2x10. That way you dont have to move the thing too often, and the missed blocks will be less because it goes in a straight line.

Or it could even have a few drills up there to get through hills and mountains, but with very little concern for mobs, liquid, and such.

The thing is, it's not Zedaph. It's the mod that is so flexible that it lets you *create* your own machines. Tango made similar contraptions but they're completely different because he came up with them in his own style.

Zedaph you could always set the drill up to go in one direction like the original drill but above ground. Same concept you have but linear maybe over an ocean so the y level stays constant?

Had the same idea, but the ocean part is even better. Just add like a single lava flow to the front and it should make cobble to ride on. Then you could add a system to automatically place rails down in front of it. Just boat ahead and place an obsidian block to stop it so it doesn't run away. Also if you do stick with a circular configuration, just let it go on the slowest speed. It shouldn't be any slower than going full speed and then back down to slow. It would just be getting all the blocks on its fist pass.

FYI, if you get a Stone Mason villager (uses a stone cutter) they will trade your stones (stone, granite, diorite, and andesite) for emeralds. They also sell quartz for emeralds too if you want them. Idk what uses emeralds in Create but trading also gives xp.

When no arrows come on the funnels it means that it is a 2 way funnel it will depend on the direction of the belt to know if it is spitting items or taking items

You'll probably get more stuff more quickly by having it go down a straight track, turn around, and then go back down the other way. When it's turning, most of the drills aren't doing much work because they're near the center.

The rotating mining machine looks pretty good coming off that wonderful windmill, but I think it could do with some decoration so it doesn't stick out as much, perhaps some kind of pit that it looks like it is churning stuff in, or a gear-like thing attatched to the snorkel so when he puts it down to park, it looks like a gear spinning around and around! Or something else.. still his base is looking pretty great!

An idea for finding dungeons: Make the snorkel only be 1 tall and 100 blocks long. Have it go in a straight line above ground, slicing a thin layer below (add multiple levels to hit different y levels) Then add a deployer that places mossy cobble! This way you can basically go afk on your machine - on your way back you can see if any mossy cobble was placed. If you see mossy = there was a dungeon in the area

Underground Drill fixes: - Pickers that make a roof of cobblestone over the machine and you to protect it from lava + some sort of cockpit to protect the driver. If that works to protect the driver then you could just make a casing for the cart. - An underground storage/processing and smelting system with automatic sorting, mass item archival (save dirt instead of throwing it away) and a transfer system .

You should definitely add a contraption that automatically crafts the processed ores you get from running the drill (diamonds, lapis, redstone, coal and emeralds) into their block forms. You should also have one for the materials that you get from the furby. Great contraption as always, Zed!

You and Tango got me into the create mod. I am working on a two part contraption one that drills infinitely in one direction and one that goes back and forth between the base dropping off rails and torches to the drill but picking up loot to take back.

In my create world I made a "chunk buster", which takes an entire chunk down to bedrock in one go, which this reminds me a lot of. I love the Zedaph flair here though. Nice work!

Don't make any of your minecart contraptions too big because when you pick it up, if there is too much nbt data, than your player file will get corrupted.

Create actually handles that pretty well. If a cart has too much nbt data for the player, it says "This Cart Contraption seems too big to be picked up" in red text when you try to wrench it. I hit this when I had more than 5*8*16(640) full barrels on a single cart. Even if you fill your entire inventory full of full stacks of these "max weight" contraptions, the player saves and loads just fine, though the game is noticeably laggy. This totals out to 2,548,039,680‬ items

Hey Zed, loved the episode! You could build a "slicer" that cuts a single slice through to bedrock and if it finds mossy cobblestone you'll know where to find a spawner!

Love this idea! To build on this idea: make the first machine that auto lays track and cobble, have it going in a straight line above ground with the snorkel attachment. Add a deployer that only lays mossy cobble! You can visualize where your machine ran into a dungeon along the way because mossy cobble will be placed along the track.

You should make a basalt bridge generator with a minecart contraption, since tango mentioned your nether is very hard to navigate it would help to be able to automatically build a bridge over the lava. Love the series, keep up the good work. Your big fan, Cooper

This is brilliant. Instead of a circle, though, you should probably just use a single strip of rails or some 2xN path - allowing it to go straight for longer and collect blocks more consistently. Alternatively, you could put a deployer on the contraption to place rails as it travels and let it run free until its inventory fills or it runs out of rails.

Place cobble in front of the drills to clear out any liquids. You can also build a safe wall/ceiling around it too so that it can deal with liquids falling in from above and the sides.

I actually really like the pillared chambers this thing accidentally produces. Shape the top drill layer, line up vertically with lava level and you can throw down some perfect dwarven halls.

Great idea Zedaph to keep the control above ground. You could always have it go in a straight line on the surface (say Y 64 for example) with additional drills on the top so it will go through hills mountains etc with the deployers used before making a track that doesn't get picked up so you could, when done, ride a minecart linked to furnace minecart back to base so no need for powered rails. It's what I'm going to endeavour to build having seen all the contraptions you & Tango have made so far.

you know you can make mining machines with Rope Pulleys and extending Pistons so you don't have to go into caves, those types of machines drill all the way to Bedrock! (don't get me wrong, the Idea used in the video is cool and very creative, but the design that mines all the way to bedrock is more efficient) (sorry if my spelling is off, I got my 2nd Vaccine dose and my arm is sore)

You need to add a second batch of drills above Y40 to collect copper and zinc (plus a bunch more andisite) You also may want to consider making your tracks oval. the machine is inefficient in corners, but it will carry momentum through in the straights.

General Drill Concern: Zedaph claimed the spawner was destroyed. I see the mossy cobblestone and the chest. What I don't see is the contents of the chest. Did they get turned into an entity when the chest was destroyed and left behind? That wouldn't be good if the chests had something good in them like an Enchanted Golden Apple.

An alternative to the minecart digging machine is a push-pull worm machine using pistons/sticky pistons and a winch to drop drills down, might be worth looking into

The mining drill is super awesome! You should put an auto crafting thing on the bottom of the conveyer belt to craft things like redstone dust into redstone blocks.

If you want it to go in a straight line, build the thing that places blocks and rails up top and put a few drills up there too to keep mountains and hills out of the way.

Been playing Create Mod in a survival world on my own, just barely finishing up the basic set of machinery (crusher, washer, mixer, press, mechanical crafters, etc.). Starting to get some interesting ideas out of this. One thing I might attempt is a contraption where you press a button and it (eventually) makes iron, crafts ingots and blocks, forms them into an anvil, and then drops it on your head.

You could combine the new version with the old version. - Add 5 redstone blocks and 5 powered rails to the inventory. - Blacklist them from being sucked out of the inventory. - Make it 200 tall so it's above any terrain. - Place a restone block in front of the cart. - Place a powered rail on that block. - Scoop up the powered rail behind it. - Mine the redstone block behind it. You *could* just mine out in front of it at the surface so it can tunnel through hills rather than go through the sky. But that seems less cool and too practical. It will constantly go forward at full speed and clean up the rails/tracks as it goes leaving no trace behind.

If you made large ovals with the tracks, you could mine even more each time. Also, the funnels on tunnels don't have a specified direction, they always decide based on the direction the belt is moving. I think the extended funnel is just aesthetic.

It occurred to me that this thing could potentially be a mob farm, spinning around in a dark space, if there is no lava in parts of the hole it digs out. I tested it, and learned that it does kill mobs, but doesn't pick up the drops, unless you superglue a row of andesite funnels to the front of the bottom row of drills. Then add the stuff you don't want to the brass "poop" filter on the back. And the drills still work! So if you wanted to collect some mob drops along with everything else (probably not, since you already have a big mob farm), this is a possibility!

What I do is make my own mining tunnel, and if I want to, I send my 10x10 miner down it by manually placing rails

It might be a rare thing but have at the top of the machine have a output for mossy and stone brick so you can see when it hits it. so you can pick up the thing and see if it left a spawner so you can grab it.

Add that rail hand and a drill at the front, so when its completed the circle break one middle rail to move forward to the next rail, then it can just keep mining

Tip: on the machine have it sort mossy cobble into a specific storage chest, then set logic so that if the chest has an item in it it stops the mining cart

Try doing the elevator build but horizontally with the mining unit on the radial chassis. Get alot more that way without missing any areas PLUS you should be able to attach a single chest to automatically drop the spoils into your Furby system.

that's great! make sure though to never put too many chests or container items like the barrels you put on it, or it could pass the information limit for entities! i did that and i got myself entity banned from my friend's server. if the machine suddenly stops and the minecart was protected, then break some containers or you could get yourself entity banned too!

Why not apply the cobble/rail auto placer above ground? Then you could dig long stretches of tunnel, with the cart just kind of up in the air. Then you never have to move it, until you are done mining.

I had an idea for a rope pulley miner as part of a contraption that I could plop down in the swamp to dig down to diamonds from clay patches, but this is much cooler.
