Inspired by the bluesy atmosphere, Gary (Anthony Michael Hall) tells a group of barflies his story.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
John Hughes's third directorial effort, Weird Science, follows in the tradition of his previous teen-centered films, Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club. Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith play the wannabe hipster Gary and his nebbish weak-willed best friend, Wyatt, a pair of high-school geeks who are hapless with members of the opposite sex. Using Wyatt's computer, they create what they believe is the ideal woman. A lightning storm brings that woman to life, and she takes the form of Kelly Le Brock. Lisa sets about building their self-confidence, but trouble begins brewing when Wyatt's cruel, military-minded older brother, Chet (Bill Paxton), begins to realize that something is not as it should be. Hughes would finish his cycle of high-school themed films with his next movie, Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

I met Anthony Michael Hall at a Comic-Con and he was super duper! He told me he actually was imitating Eddie Murphy for the director and the director liked it so much he put in the film. Very nice guy...talked to me like he knew me my whole life

So he came to our opening night in Vegas back in "07. There was a huge party for us and Planet Hollywood Casino, we, STOMP had residence there. This scene is an example of expert editing. Every beat is perfect, and no one shot drags on more than it has to. So often in movies you can notice how the director gets a lot of coverage in multiple takes, which then gets assembled together in post. But this scene comes off as if it was done in one take, covered by multiple cameras, WHICH IT WASN'T! It's amazing. I would love to see the behind the scenes of this while it was being filmed. Pure genius.
