weird testosterone changes (transguy)

Hi, I'm a trans guy and these are some of the weird changes I had when I started testosterone. Some are a little bit TMI and PG18 so be aware!

I can relate to all of these. I even thought I was asexual for a hot minute before I started T. When the hormones kicked in I suddenly felt the urge to date as many people as I could and find a boyfriend. I’ve definitely noticed getting treated differently too, almost ignored if I’m not demanding attention. I guess people expect me to be more aggressive about socializing?

Would love to hear a video about your experiences as being read as male/a cismale. I’m three months on T and have started being read as male more often, and that’s been the weirdest change so far. I feel like I’ve been thrown into a world I don’t know how to navigate, but bc of how I look people presume I have a lifetime of experience at this.

I WAS JUST TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT HOW WEIRD IT WAS FOR ME BEING TREATED 'DIFFERENTLY'. Literally today I had said since I've been passing I've realized the standards that are put on men and idk which gender has it better? I could write an essay on it no joke. I have my first T appointment tomorrow! But I pass already, I've just noticed it more recently. Pretty weird on how this was a big topic in my discussions today and you said it in the video lol!

You can be turned on just not wanting to have anything with people sexuality is complicated i think testosterone just increases a bjological urge . If you just cant find people attractive romantucally lets say then it might be the same . I know one person who is like that they felt like hungry for something they dont know what it is . They can not just connect these feeling with people like there was no desire for having something with someone no face in it .

So, like, as a student who has studied gender politics and is aware of it, do you have insights into things that suddenly make you go like "oh yeah - that makes sense"? Het meeste is herkenbaar, vooral dat libido en veranderend haar. Het werd echt veel en dik terwijl. Nu is het wel plots enorm aan het uitvallen na 4 jaar. Het is moeilijk om te beschrijven hoe de mensen mij behandelen tegenover vroeger. Ze zien mij duidelijk anders, maar ben ook qua persoonlijkheid een totaal ander persoon geworden. Dan weet ik soms niet meer waaraan het nu ligt en in hoeverre gender er mee te maken heeft. Is er eigenlijk een levendige trans community in Nederland?

Was your dads side of hair more curly? Is that how testosterone tends to work? Like maybe your moms hair was straight so yours was too but when you went on testosterone your body started to take the genes from your dad and put them on the surface? Idk I really wanna go on T and I wanna know as much as I can

Alanna deSilva the genetic combination of 50/50 from each parent will already have been made so it’s unlikely it will be taking the genes from the dad. It’s likely just to be a second puberty doing what puberty does
