When I was training to be a Vet Nurse, I heard from a classmate of mine where a dog swallowed a lil toy ball and had to get surgery to get it out! When the procedure is done and the dog woke up, the vet was explaining to the client and showed the owner the ball... the dog took it's chance and lunged at it, swallowing it yet again! It was very awkward and embarassing from what I've heard and they had to do surgery again to take the ball out and this time they threw the ball away. Never gonna risk that chance again! 🤣

Snake case: I am abs speechless - this amount of money and time invested in a wild animal is incredible, I love them so much for doing that for a snake! Most people would even just let it suffer bc its not a cute furry animal to them, this whole setup for a wild python is making me so happy TwT In another episode they brought in both the dog who fought the snake as well as the chewed-on snake which they decided to put down bc it was too severely injured- that shot costs hundreds! I am so happy and grateful to see they use the extra money they get with the series to help wildlife in the same way they would do for beloved pets

Underwear? Pfft! That happens way more often than it should. That doesn't surprise me. Underwear, socks and dirty, stanky shirts get eaten all the time. My clinic removed multiple golf balls from a single dog, a mouse cat toy from dog that did not live with cats ( Nobody knows where they got the toy), a sewing needle from a cat's throat, yarn balls ( Yarn and string are NOT toys, folks!), rocks.... lots of rocks, various children's toys from Lego to plushies, various adult toys but mostly C-rings, jewellery, rubber washers. Biggest offender of eating things they shouldn't: Labradors/Goldens. Whenever there was an animal in clinic with a foreign body, 85% chance it's a lab/golden. Luckily, we've never had dogs eat knives or snakes eating heating blankets. I've heard stories/seen x-rays but thankfully never seen it myself.

Funniest story was when I was the OIC of Shore Patrol I got to ride around with the police. They got a call to a house about a peeping tom. While the couple were talking with the police in their living room about the peeping tom the couple started asking if I wanted tea and how I was enjoying Australia.
