Some superhero movies really just don't pass the test of time, but then there's the occasional banger of a movie. No Way Home, Into the Spiderverse, Black Panther, Thor: Ragnarok. They're just getting back to the level they should be on

A couple of superhero movies that I think are really good and don't need prior knowledge are: Batman '89 & Batman Returns (If you like Tim Burton's movies you'll like them) X-Men & X2: United (They are old but classics) X-Men First Class (It's worth watching, especially for McAvoy and Fassbender) Into the Spider-Verse (One of the best movies I've ever watched) The Batman (It's a solo movie without connections to anything) I would also recommend Logan (2017) but for someone to really appreciate it they need prior knowledge to who Logan, Professor X and the mutants are

Fun Fact: In the comics, it's not a side effect that made Wade look like that. Wade still has cancer; he just heals faster than the cancer is killing him, so he looks like that because he's basically a living tumour.

Ironically, the cancer also is a part of the reason why he can live, as when he lost it in the comics, he died if I remember correctly.

Something that I always find funny in a sad way is that throughout the whole movie Wade is trying to find the dude by asking "Where's Francis" and it's real likely that the majority of the people he was fighting didn't have a clue who Francis was. He was known to people on his side as Ajax, so Wade likely would have gotten his location sooner if he'd used the name all those people actually knew Francis as. 😭
@AnthonyGladbach Жыл бұрын
Which on the other hand is COMPLETELY in character and justified on Wade's part because Francis did THAT to him... Like HELL Wade would give Francis the satisfaction of KNOWING Wade would have had to call him Ajax... EVEN ONCE... If even to find him... I am POSITIVE Wade almost knew he could have done EXACTLY that but PREFERRED to torment Francis by having the rumor spread through out the company of some lunatic in a red suit picking them off looking for a specific guy named Francis... Not a single person even HEARING of a man named Francis... And Francis could have easily cleared it up on THEIR end... But would have had to admit to such a name... Or long story short: "Ha ha! YOU might have out smarted me! But I have out smarted your out smarting!!!"

I understand the superhero fatigue very well. You are in a unique position as a content creator though! You can definitely space them all out so you don’t get overwhelmed and still be able to watch them Deadpool is very standalone tbh! @Welchy Жыл бұрын
Hmm true!
@CaptainAmercia Жыл бұрын
I don't even think "Superhero Fatigue" even exists i just think people are fatigued with the fact so many Marvel Superhero films and shows follow the same formula which is where this fatigue comes from rather than the genre of Superhero's themselves. The Boys, The Batman, Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Across the Spider-verse etc. These kind of prove that people still love Superhero's but are tired of the same thing over and over again. Just because a film is set in a connected universe doesn't mean they need the same style of writing, tone, and humour. Hopefully this is something James Gunn does well with the DCU less films and shows and more focus on making them great yet unique and different in tone. There's also alot of movies that would be regarded Superhero films for example Robocop. So there will be people who don't really like Superhero films but a film they do like is most likely a Superhero film unknown to them.

Wade Wilson was a long-time 'soldier of fortune', earning him his infamous moniker as "The Merc with the Mouth"; surviving nearly a decade of doing so because he's just that good. Of course, he also has serious issues with (supposedly) having to obey orders - particularly when he disagreed with them - which is how he wound up as a vigilante for hire (only taking jobs he agrees with). The mutation experiments did heighten his reflexes some and increased his strength, but mainly due to the fact that his body constantly regenerates to the pinnacle of physical fitness.

Fighting Francis is a problem because of the mutant analgesia; he'll keep going even after hits that would leave any other opponent curled on the ground screaming, but there's also advantages to fighting someone who can't feel pain. Pain exists as a function to let us know when something is very wrong and that we need to stop/get away from the danger. People with congenital analgesia have to check themselves for small wounds all the time, because if you can't feel a cut and you don't clean it, it's all too easy for it to become infected. In Francis' case, though, I'd say the advantage is in just how many large blood vessels run very close to the skin in the body, and so can be damaged without him noticing until it's too late.

Deadpool is freaking the best!! Hope you get to watch the second one too! And Francis there as I understand it he's strong and faster and can't feel pain, but he's not immortal, if he was shot or stabbed through the heart or brain, sure it'll kill him just like any normal person. My favorite part is how Deadpool keeps asking all the henchmen "Where's Francis?!?!" but of course they don't know who he's talking about, they only know him as Ajax, not Francis! LOL
