I don't think Miles being able to outrun the spider society shows that the other spiders are weak, but rather that running and avoiding is much more in power and character of Spider-Man than chasing and capture. The complete idea of the spider sense is that it aids mostly in defensive maneuvers against everything that might be a danger to Spider-Man. In that regard, the spider society did something they are less good at (because all of them basically are the same avoidance until you find the time to strike archetype) while Miles does something he is an expert in thanks to spidersense. This also plays into the idea that the spider society is corrupting itself from within, as they neglect the ideal of spiderman and his powers, while Miles stays true to his spider identity.

I’d also like to add that, at least plot wise, Spider-Man and most other hero’s are often more powerful when they are fighting for something that fits within their ideals. So as hero’s within a hero story they are making them selves less powerful by not living up to their ideals.

I think it's also a show of Miguel's lack of leadership skills. Rather than giving direct instructions he just tells them all to go after "Spiderman". When you compare this miles numbatan scene where he directs all of them through playing into their strengths. It's meant to show the differences in Miguel and miles

I do like the little thread that we get that miguel is basically a walking confirmation bias, those two “collapses” looked completely different which is why even though Hobie probably knew what was up by Miguel’s standards he wasn’t worried. If miles was a mistake then it should make him exempt from the canon because those events already happened in that universe and yet he’s not. The logic isn’t sound but it’s something Miguel could hold onto in his grief as reasoning for what happened Bonus you can see Jess rethinking things when she has to realize what she’s doing to someone’s baby, she sat by as miguel choke slammed and verbally abused a 15 yr old child

If I'm not mistaken Spider-man 2099 differs quite a bit from other spiders. Instead of being bit his DNA was spliced with spider genes which gave him retractable claws instead of the sticky hands, venomous fangs and I don't believe he has the Spider sense😅

Earth-199999 is the MCU, and Miguel was talking about No Way Home which you’ve seen. @9:18 My favorite funny moment was when The Spot kicked himself and fell into a scary portal before he could finish his sentence. Also, you gotta admit that the one spot that makes up his face turning into a little dot was kinda cute. I also liked how cartoony the first fight was. Between spinning in the car wash to the Foam Party becoming an actual foam party with Miles and Spot “dancing” to the kid taking off his mask, I couldn’t stop laughing the first time around. The Lego sequence was put together not by a team of animators but rather by a 14-year-old kid named Preston Mutanga. Lenny, the Jamaican shopkeeper, was voiced by Ziggy Marley, one of Bob Marley’s children. Three facts about Pavitr: 1.) He wasn’t bitten by a radioactive spider. Rather his powers are magic based. 2.) He fights using an Indian martial art called Kalaripayattu. A small animation team from Kerala, India was tasked to help animate Pavitri's movements. 3.) His Spidey mask has design inspirations from Theyyam, a Hindu ritual from Kerala. When Hobie says he hates the a.m. and the P.M, he’s respectively talking about the morning and the Prime Minister. Malala Windsor, the Spider-Woman with the hijab, is an original character created for this movie. She was never introduced in the comics. @23:56 and @23:59 That’s record producer Metro Boomin’ making a cameo. He curated the soundtrack for this movie. There’s a deluxe edition with six other tracks included. Peter is a great mentor but also an irresponsible father for bringing Mayday to a steel mill with all kinds of equipment that can easily harm her. Miguel has the best of intentions with preventing the multiverse from collapsing, but I didn’t like that he called Miles a mistake and blamed him for everything that happened. Miles never asked to get bitten by a radioactive spider, but he’s doing his best and making the most of the situation. And finally, it’s weird but also cool that Earth-42’s version of J. Jonah Jameson and The Daily Bugle would actually support a Spider-Man rather than call him a menace all the time. Beyond the Spider-Verse was originally slated for March of next year. Unfortunately due to the ongoing writers and actors strike, voice recording has been delayed until further notice. The good news for now is that the animation is still underway, but let’s hope they don’t get screwed like the prior team.

Even without the strikes, it was already going to be delayed anyway. When Across The Spider-verse released, Hayley Steinfield said that she hadn't recorded any voice lines for Beyond The Spider-verse yet. Recording the voice acting happens early in production, because you need to have the audio to sync the lip movements to while animating the characters. If they still hadn't recorded any of Gwen's lines only 9 months before the intended release date, no way was the movie going to be finished in time. I think it's a bit shady that Sony is blaming the strikes for the delay. Yes, obviously the strikes are affecting it too, but I feel like that's a shady way to undermine the important message of the strikes, rather than owning up to the fact that the movie was going to be delayed anyway.

Gwen's dad quitting the force is nice and all, and I'm happy for Gwen that it ended well, but it always feels a bit weak for me considering he didn't quit when he realized he almost shot his daughter, he only *decided* to quit "halfway through her big speech". Like why was his awakening moment not when he had to face the fact he almost killed his child.

When I first saw the movie, I initially interpreted that line as he (mentally) quit in the earlier scene, halfway through it. But on rewatch, I was watching that scene, trying to figure out the moment when he quit, and I couldn't see it. It was only on my third rewatch that I realised that he meant he'd just decided to quit in that scene. I think it would have been stronger if they'd had that moment in the earlier scene. Maybe they could have animated him mouthing something at Gwen through the red force-field thing, which in hindsight the audience would realise was him begging Gwen to stay, telling her that he quits, but she couldn't hear him at the time because of the force-field thing. I think that would have been more powerful than it taking him until Gwen came back to decide to quit. (Although the thought popped into my head just now is that maybe he didn't quit until then because he was using the resources at his job on the police force to search for Gwen while she was missing. But he would have seen her step through the portal, so he would've had some idea that she probably wasn't just hiding out somewhere in the city, although he wouldn't have had any way to know for sure that she was in another dimension. Still, I guess it could be interpreted in the way that after she left, he only cared about using his job to find her, and only after she was back he felt comfortable quitting because he didn't need the job to find her anymore, but there isn't enough evidence in the movie to support this interpretation, so I definitely think having a moment in the earlier scene to indicate that he decided to quit then would have been much stronger)

I think it was because he missed her that much. Once he understood her and why she left, he knew he couldn't be an officer anymore, and in the time while she was gone, he realized how much he just wanted her in his life more than anything. Also, he'd been visited by Hobey already, so he had an idea of what was happening in the bigger picture. People keep forgetting that Hobey gave her dad the multiverse watch before she even got to him.

I hope the sequel addresses why Spider-Ham and Noir weren’t in the Spider-Society; my guess is that they told Miguel to get lost. That’s assuming they were even considered; Gwen and Peni are teenage girls who were easier to convince (and Miguel didn’t want Gwen because he was concerned she’d do what he was worried about), and Peter B. was helping Miguel *before* he founded the Society so he’d already empathised with his perspective… ;-( Also, you *ask* the film to let Spot kill someone… then realise he might kill somebody we actually like. Some infomation to help you out: Miles Morales (Earth-1610B) - Based on the Ultimate Universe in the comics Earth-1610 So this is pretty much the main universe we follow in both these films, one Miles exists in and became Spider-Man after the death of Peter Parker. It's a reflection of our universe but with differences like brand names, Michelle Obama ran for office instead of Obama, NYPD is called the PDNY etc. Also I think there's a basketball player who in real life was really good but never became massive famous but in Miles universe he's one of the most famous basketball players of all time. Peter B Parker (Earth-616B) - Based on the Mainline Marvel Universe of Earth-616 This is the reality of Peter B Parker who you can look at as the "main" Spider-Man being closer to the mainline Spider-Man comics and our own reality having real brands etc. They retconned his reality to Earth-616B to not overlap the comics. Miles as well who is now Earth-1610B as his origin, death of Spider-Man among other things don't line up with the comics. Doctor Strange (Earth-199999) Doctor Strange is a character who exists in pretty much every universe with the main one being Earth-616 of course the Main Marvel Continuity from the comics. But Earth-199999 Doctor Strange is the one from the MCU played by Benedict Cumberbatch introduced in the 2016 Doctor Strange film. This is also the only non Spider-Man related character mentioned in this film, a hint at the greater Marvel universe beyond Spider-Man, like if Tony Stark was mentioned or Captain America. I can't say why this is a reference for spoilers but the "little nerd" line was a nod to MCU Spider-Man played by Tom Holland and relates to one of his Spider-Man films this being why Miguel brought it up. Miguel O'Hara (Earth-928) Miguel is Spider-Man of Earth-928 active in the year 2099. Earth-928 is a possible future of Earth-616 (Mainline Marvel Comics) where the modern world became embroiled in a massive civil war between humans and mutants. In the end the humans won but suffered tremendous losses. Even fewer mutants survived. Miguel worked for Alchemax where he tried a genetic procedure, Miguel survived the process; his DNA was spliced with the genes of a spider and gained several powers. Miguel also has Talons and Fangs and Organic Webbing. Pretty much Alchemax was trying to re-create the powers of characters from the Age of Hero's the present day of Marvel Comics. Spider-Man/Peter Parker being one of these characters. Jessica Drew ( Earth-332) Jessica is of course Spider-Woman but not the one from Earth-616, the mainline Marvel continuity . In this film she's a Variant of the Spider-Woman from Earth-332 depicted as a Black Woman with an Afro while Earth-616 Jessica Drew is white with straight black hair and a different outfit. You can actually see a comic accurate Jessica Drew Spider-Woman chasing Miles so I assume this is the mainline Earth-616 Spider-Woman. Jessica Drew being pregnant is also from the comic. She's got a very complex history in the comics relating to her origin. Ben Riley (Earth-94) Ben Riley (Taking Uncle Ben's first name and Aunt May's Maiden name) was a genetic clone of Peter Parker introduced in the original Clone Saga from the 1970s. Alot of stuff happened, pretty much Gwen Stacy showed up out of nowhere to the shock of Peter as this wasn't long after her Death. It was later revealed that a villain known as the Jackel cloned Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker who he blamed for the death of Gwen. The jackel kidnapps Ned Leeds and Spider-Man hunts the Jackel to his lab where he comes face to face with another Spider-Man. The lab is destroyed and the Clone of Peter is assumed to be killed in the lab explosion. But decades later we get the new Clone Saga in the 1990s that re-introduced that same clone. Its a long and overly complex storyline but summed up its revealed that the Clone survived. Then Peter is actually tricked into believing that he was the Clone this whole time since the original Clone Saga, this naturally pissed off so many Spider-Man fans. Peter (Thinking he was the Clone) left New York with his wife Mary Jane, leaving Ben (Who we the reader thought was the original Peter) to pick up the mantle of Spider-Man. After the reveal that our Peter was in fact not the Clone he took up the mantle of Spider-Man again while Ben became The Scarlet Spider in 1994 rocking his classic outfit with the blue hoodie over a really cool red Spider-Man outfit. The Ben Riley in this movie is a Variant of his Earth-616 counterpart from Earth-94 a fun nod to Web of Spider-Man Vol 1 118 from 1994 the first appearance of The Scarlet Spider. Insomniac Spider-Man (Earth-1048) The Spider-Man we see in between the two video game characters locked away is actually the Spider-Man of the latest Spider-Man games. You can easily spot him with the white Spider Symbol and he's even voiced by Yuri Lowenthal who voices Spider-Man in the games. In terms of the history of this Spider-Man it's extremally similar to the mainline Spider-Man from the comics but with Insomniac's own spin on the characters. Hobie Brown (Earth-138) Hobie, Spider-Man of Earth-138 is so cool and was actually bitten by a spider irradiated by illegal waste dumping taking up the title Spider-Man. He began to fight for freedom alongside his friend Captain Anarchy, heavily inspired and based on Captain America. He became the leader of the Spider Army fighting against President Ozzy Osborn's oppression. The "Little Spider-Man" (Earth-26496) This little guy who spoke to Miles is from The Spectacular Spider-Man (2008 to 2009) Animated Series voiced by Josh Keaton who also voices him in Across the Spider-Verse. You could also see Spectacular Spider-Man's Uncle Ben's death in one of the Canon Nods that showed all the deaths of Uncle Ben. I do find it funny that people have dubbed him "Little Spider-Man" as in his art style he's pretty tiny when beside the other Spider-People but the show is so good. And of course a bunch of other Web Slingers with most of the background ones just being Spider-People in different suits the Mainline Spider-Man has worn throughout the comics and then the designers gave them different body sizes and genders. I'm glad you're getting into "Superhero" films and seeing that the genre itself is so large and diverse. I personally believe it's impossible to "hate" Superhero film's as all it really means is a Hero with a "power" that makes them Super. From Power Rangers to Robocop, Darkman, The Crow, The Rocketeer, Hellboy etc. There all extremally different but still Superhero's. Anything really could be classed as "Superhero" but I think when alot of people think of Superhero's they think of the classic cape stuff like Superman etc.

it wasnt like Miles beat every version of spiderman because he was better than everyone else but because everyone was getting in the way of each other because Spiderman Works best as a solo act and when there is an entire legion of Spidermen that means that they wont know how to coordinate an attack on a single target and when everyone is trying to catch Miles and Miles being the only using his spider sense to avoid everyone else is the only one trying to avoid everyone coming at him hence and Spider sense is a defensive measure and if Miles is the only one using it defensively while everyone else is on the offensive it now makes sense why Miles was able to deter every Spiderman
