Are you able to elaborate on how your PA journey began in 2014 and what you did in between the 5 years to apply to CASPA. Why 5 year gap, is it related to pre-requisite courses expiring or getting more experiences under your belt?

That is such a great question. I was planning to do a future video on this very question, because my timeline was a bit all over the place. The abbreviated version is that I started college in Buffalo, New York (my hometown), moved to California in 2014 and continued college/undergrad here (I majored in Kinesiology, option in exercise science at Cal State Long Beach). I took additional pre-requisites throughout the summer/winter breaks. I also took one semester off to take a CNA course spring 2016 (I took an MA course during nights in Spring 2018 as well, but that did not interfere with my classes). I graduated undergrad Spring 2019, and applied in 2019 as well. I was accepted my first time applying, with an August start. So that is why I am starting in August 2020. Fortunately, none of my pre-requisites expired (the cut off for the schools I applied to was 7 years), but I will say that the 5 year gap was for undergrad degree, pre-requisites, and experiences (my experiences were as a CNA/MA/ED medical scribe). I will definitely be breaking down my timeline in a future video (as well as my patient care experiences), but I hope that helps give some context! :)
