Good vid people. I first joined the craft in 1968. Yes, I am an elder. Once I helped start a very large pagan group that is still flourishing to this day, but now I live in the country as a solitary. I am retired and never mentioned my faith at work save to one person I saw who was wearing a pentacle. We chatted a bit. A very devout co-worker did confront me once and asked "Are you a Warlock?" to which I said: "Warlock is from an old Saxon word meaning "oath breaker" and no I do keep my word. I think the term you are looking for is "Wizard" to which I will say yes" He looked at me funny :) I stood by my professional reputation and thought whatever others think of me, being Wiccan won't change that. I am PAGAN AND PROUD!!!

I dispute that, Christ is prophesied in every book of the old testament, thats roughly 5500 years of belief. I need to research Wicca more, but Christianity while easily corrupted, is a path to true fulfillment, I have dabbled in everything from traditional Norse beliefs, modern Satanism, to Atheism. The only spirituality that has lifted my sorrow has been doing my best to please the Creator, the God of Abraham. I have had days, and struggle, but the deep sorrow is gone.

Right off the top, I want to say I am a Christian. Having said that I don't think true Christianity and Wicca are all that far apart. I don't believe in magic, per se, I do believe Earth supplies everything we need. In fact that belief is backed by several pieces of Scripture. I'm saying this only because some of the comments seem overly harsh against Christianity. I do not judge anyone for what they believe. That is between the individual and God. I don't really have enough space or time in this forum to make any lengthy comparisons. I'll just reiterate that I don't think true, emphasis on true, Christianity and other beliefs are so far apart as we may believe. Thanks for reading to all who do so.

Christianity is a beautiful thing, it is a guide to living a fulfilling life (for me, it gave me a peace that I have never known.) The God of Abraham is self described as the Alpha, and Omega, the beginning and the end. I study the religion of the ancients, more than most.(Especially Norse, as little as is left of it) In my opinion the Christian God either encompasses the feminine and masculine, or the old "gods" tore the feminine to pieces and dispersed her throughout the universe or earth. If the second is true, the return of Christ will see the rebirth of the feminine creation force, and if the first is true, then do Wiccans worship only certain aspects of the creator?

I can relate to a lot of this. I am not a wiccan, but I study another branch of witchcraft. I'm kemetic. But I too just recently came out of the closest of being a witch. My parents and cousin knew, but everyone else didn't. Then a couple of days ago I being extremely tired tried to put up a post on a witch forum. But instead of the forum it went onto my page. I didn't realise the mistake until my mum gave me a heart for the post. She's not a witch so I thought that something was up. Now everyone knows I'm a witch. I had an associate made a comment on that post telling everyone that it was witchcraft. If they didn't get it from the post they got it from her. Love the video

I kind of have one. We were all family before I began teaching them the Craft. Myself , hubby , 2 nephews and their wives. So we are more like a "Clan" of Witches not necessarily a Coven . Serves same function. We remain Clan status then any future Initiates have been adopted into the family.

I have 3 long, VERY long black candles. And I don't like them because they are too long and will take forever to burn. The town I live in has no where that sells short 4 to 6 inch black candles. And I'm really fed up about it as have been looking everywhere for black candles the right length. So... Is it ok to take the original candles and just chop them in half? I have not used them for the spell yet - they are fresh new candles. But if I chop the base off, just to make them shorter , does that lower the potency of the candles? Would that ruin the spell that may be done later?

I need to break my silence and describe an experience I also had when the guy mentioned his anxiety and reservations about revealing his faith at work, fearing stigma in a very problematic context. See, I'm not a Wiccan myself, but I have a lot of respect for witches, and indeed an incident at work got me extremely angry. I had a very silly, laid-back, underperforming loser of a colleague at the corporate office where I worked. She would literally horse around and joke openly about porn. Her lack of work was getting much more praise by the higher ups and my stress to tears was getting the short-end of the stick by management. Sorry, I revealed all that just to set the scenario from where I was operating and this was taking place. This Albanian-American woman by the way happened to profess her affiliation with Christianity very openly (I'm an Indian-American and non Christian myself). Once in conversation, only the mere suspicion of my potentially being a witch came up, a casual conversation lauding magical traditions, nothing else. No declaration on my part that I'm a practicing Wiccan, actively believing in witchcraft, nada. She started speaking in the most persecutary tone that if I ever turned out a witch that would be extremely weird and cause for problem. Now this lady was already getting a lot of free passes and privileges at work. I could almost feel forced into a corner. Had I ever innocently and casually laughed my newfound belief in this gorgeous tradition, feeling safe in the new paradigm of the 21st century, I dread to think what should have rallied all the other aging, bigoted, conservative Republican men in my department against me. So, YES, I hear you, it can be INCREDIBLY unwise to divulge your faith in witchcraft paths to ANYBODY at work, depending on who forms the majority of that workforce and is calling all the shots. It's so ridiculous because it's appalling how militant these ignorant Dark Ages relics behave about something so harmless and personal. I believe workplace discrimination against Wiccans/Witches/Pagans is uncalled for and that this faith deserves the same immunity and consideration bestowed upon every other practicing faith in this country. Lawsuit, if you will. Sorry, my exceptionally long rant, but I had to put this out there, hearing what you're going through.

To observe nature and all her beauty, the shy frog that leaps into the pond, the majestic Eagle that soars above, the singing trees as mother softly blows wind through their leaves. Our world is sacred wherever we are, and the beauty of adding religion in a witches life is opening a door to the sacred spiritual realm of Earth we are from. We enter this place with perfect love and perfect trust in our hearts and his blessing is reaffirming our goals in life. I'm still hiding my mom's side was the witches of the family and I did get a power from her and I lost it I don't know how or why I've been confused but it happens ever since I got with this guy. His mom is heavy heavy classic Christian and called me evil if I was one that I'll be sent to hell that I couldn't be a part of the family if I am one and it just hurts I want to be who I am and not be judged it makes no sense I've done nothing wrong. In the Bible it states that one shall not use the lord’s name in vain, which includes using gods name to threaten one into submission under a religion. Everyone has a different religion that they follow, and to you, that is your faith. We don’t walk up to your door uninvited and start talking to you about the God and Goddess or about Witchcraft, so leave us to our own. We aren’t hurting you, and you should bash us for having a different belief. We respect you and your religion, so respect us and our religion? No Wiccan is going to FORCE you and THREATEN you into our religion. Religion comes from belief and from the heart, and you’ll have to accept that people really just don’t believe in Jesus or your particular God. Which should be fine. We aren’t embarking you about your religion, so just leave us alone. We’re not hurting you by believing in what we believe.
