Dwarf in Lviv was donated by the city of Wrocław. After 1945, most of the inhabitants of Lviv moved to Wrocław. It was a time when Poles were resettled from the territory of former Poland. Time when Lviv became part of the former USSR. The Orange Alternative ridiculed communism. Wasn't it a comic arrest by the political police just because you looked like a leprechaun? Of course, there was a flip side to such an arrest, that is, the consequences. These people were often beaten and tortured. Therefore, these figurines are a tribute to them by the next generations. Silesian dumplings are a popular addition instead potatoes. The iconic dish in Silesia consists of: beef roulade, Silesian dumplings, gravy and hot red cabbage.

Are you sure there are old polish buildings? They must have been really old. Since the 12th century, the population was pretty mixed. Since the 13th century, polish people were allready a minority in Wroclaw. Its due to the Ostsiedlung. Btw, it was just like a "come back". Germanic tribes left these places beforehand due to the big migration in the west of germanic tribes. And slavic tribes came to the places and settled down. It was cultural german since the 13th century, so yes, its possible but really unlikely to have a building that is older.

Hi, your videos are a real treat, so I decided to ask - are you guys going to visit the eastern Poland too? A believe you could enjoy seeing it very much, especially Lublin region, with it's landscapes, and unique architectural style, called Lublin Renaissance. You asked for recommendations, so I recommend Lublin itself (did you know that you can see - just for example - the Byzantine style frescoes in Poland?), and Kazimierz Dolny, the officially most beautiful little town in Poland (it may be little, but if you imagine that you can see everything, what is worth of seeing, in less than three-four days, you are very wrong...). Also local foods are really good - oh, just come and see for yourself... And have much fun during all your journey :)
@tomekdarda2 жыл бұрын
I absolutely adore Lublin, its location on the hills (most cities in PL are rather flat), brilliant twist on renaissance architecture and eastern influences are enchanting. The only problem are the connections: while you can get there from Warsaw with a train no problem in 2 hours (I believe it's finally this after a long reconstruction), but from Kraków, it usually takes some 5 hours, which is so bad, it should be 3 at the most, given the distance and importance of the place.

@@kasoro5261 What does hospitality have to do with it? I watch the channel because I think it's great to watch. Which doesn't mean I can't comment. I am not writing this to insult someone, just to save someone from unpleasant situations. I clearly wrote that young people do not mind. The situation is similar with shoes in the apartment. If the owner does not say anything, we always take off our shoes when entering someone's apartment. Is it inappropriate? In my opinion, it is very useful, and it is worth knowing the customs of others.

Opole is also Silesia, only we call it white, because marl is mined there and there are cement plants. Katowice and its surroundings are black Silesia, because there are coal mines there. In fact, Opole and Racibórz were the first capitals of Silesia and the Piast dynasty. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKLVe6Fsbteshbc Video about Opole kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKqofJR4f9iMnq8 Bielsko-Biała spot

Not fun but fakt. Hitler decided to make Breslau [German name for Wrocław] Festung that is a fortress. In Feb 1945 Red Army surrounded the city. German command decided to built an air strip to keep connection with the Reich by air. A large area of the city center was demolished and turned into an airfield with many killings among the Germans and forced prisoners as the city was under constant bombardment. Only one plane used that strip. It was a plane with local gauleitner Hanke [nazi party leader in Breslau] who run away in the last minute before surrender to Czechia where German units still ruled the land. The Festung surrounded on 6/05/1945 4 days after Berlin after 3 months siege. 80 to 90% of Wrocław was in ruins with 100000 casualties. Ca 60000 Soviets solders died. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Hanke
