This is beautiful work and very educational! Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

i you might know this or you might not. but having a to high of a purge/ gas flow on your torch can cause porosity in you weld. the extra force can create a vortex swirling the gas out of the cup and suck oxygen into the weld area.

Skip around opposite quarters, for root....keeps it straight, don't stop on the hot pass....will pull...for the cap check level, finish on the side that needs to pull.....also some places let you use di water to cool, to pull back straight...looks good have a great day! 👍

honestly you did a good job. stainless is picky when you weld it. be mindful of how much you cook it putting your filler in and keep a medium purge around the weld and youll be alright

Don't get to crazy with the purge, when you tie it in turn the purge down just a bit so there's no suck back on the root. Other than that, damn good work.

No your seeing it right. We took a flapper disk and nocked off most of the land then fit it up. We should probably of taken it to the knife edge but it went in really good

When starting out welding in position like this example, you tend to get the 12 o'clock position cap very neat and the 6 o'clock position not as neat looking. When I first started welding an old welder asked me if I wanted to know how to get the bottom section of the weld to look like the top section. I certainly did, and I thought I am going to learn something. So he told me. " Make and arse of the top" good advice and the moral is you cannot instantly become a master by listening to people you have to practice and then practice some more, the only way to learn welding.

Idk how you see with your face being so far away! Seems like we both have problems. 🤫
@bigwhisky46763 жыл бұрын
@@JacobSchofield No bro I wish I could see that close to the weld nowadays . I had to re-train myself to be that far away from my welding because of my eyesight and I have cheaters in the welding hood and I wear bifocals which it gets pretty blurry if you’re closer than a foot from the weld lol.
