Thanks for another very nice video Welkers. It was interesting and enjoyable to watch for sure. Yeah-finished Harvest for 2024!!!!!! Seems like you just got started and now done and ready to start seeding again!!!!!!! Always feels good to get the headers and combines put away for the winter. Now you are getting your seeders out and getting them ready to go. Wow. Time for seeding already. Seems time just flys by. See Colby was get his ride in the tractor to start the seeding time. Machinery is always needing checking over and adjusting it seems. Just the way it goes. Same goes with the seeders. Takes a bit to get the seeders ready with all of their adjustments and such. Guess that is about it I guess. Done with harvest and now ready for seeding. And the year rolls on !!!!!!!!! My blessings to all of you. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy. Steve. 😊👋👍✅🙏💕🇺🇸

You mentioned that you have a field that is compacted and I know you guys generally are all (No Till) but when dealing with a field that you know is pretty heavily compacted do you guys ever do even just some shallow vertical ripping to try to loosen it up which will allow rain water and melting snow in the spring to go more easily down into the soil.

Scott why would you plant winter wheat into such dry ground? or is it you need the seed to lay dormant and use the spring thaw to germinate? II know bit of farming lol haven farmed with dad and so on in me younger years. but never had nothin to do with winter wheat ect. last early fall I spent a week back home at a favorite lake. and went around visiting people ect. Lester was setting up to cut on dad's ground, It was so so so sad how tiny the Barley curnals were. I would guess it was about a 15 bushel to the acre crop. I was a very awesome day to be able to see the big ol combines at the old family farm once again, since it has been aproximentaly 30 years from when I left there. Monty told me his ground averaged 18 bushels to the acre, it is so way to dry any more, I prey for moisture for you farmers out there. We all need you all so very much and hope the best for you all hugs from karrie
