Hey Dillon, I am 74 and I have added a smoothie in the morning to be sure I get all my nutrients also. It is loaded with a lot of things, but instead of drinking it, I put it in a bowl and eat it with a spoon. I have a degree in Holistic nutrition and studied to be a Naturopath, so I am aware that you should not drink it quickly because it puts a lot of sugar in your system at once. Has worked well for me. Love your videos, keep encouraging and educating us, thanks.

My typical day would be workout, break intermittent fast with baked sweet potato topped with beans and salad green, a banana. For dinner, its almost always rice with lentil stew or beans and 1-2 types of veggies such as slaw, *fill in the blank* grilled or steamed veggie (carrot, zuccini, etc.) tossed with herbs and asian or italian dressing, like a buddha bowl.

I understand if you’re trying to lose weight then you shouldn’t have things like nuts and seeds or other high fat, calorically dense foods like avocado and oil. If I omit those foods from my diet, then where do I get those nutrients from? Also, what about the satiation factor? When I add those foods to my diet I feel so much more satiated and tend to eat less.
@Nvrr05 жыл бұрын
I don’t believe that , there is an article where ppl who are one avocado a day compared to those who didn’t lost more weight , I’ll have to find the link and share it, as for me I eat all those and lost 16lbs in one month. I do work out 5x a week. Here is what I normally eat, Morning after working out Smoothie/ice cream bowl 3bananas frozen 1cup berries 1tbsp flax 1tbsp hemp 2/3tbsp chia 1tbsp almond butter 1tbsp cocoa nibs 3dates 1/2 cup of water or low sugar almond milk Lunch I sometimes skip depending on how I feel Soup tomato greens seasonings in vitamix blender or snack in figs or a salad with tofu with tahini/spicy mustard sauce I make. Or a green smoothie , mango kale . Dinner Big servings of mixed veggies (green beans,mushroom ,carrot, broccoli,cauliflower green peas and kale/spinach with a tahini sauce I make , on the side I switch it up and add a carb - plantains, sweet or regular potato baked , quinoa, a veggie burger I make with lentils,chickpeas black beans or sometimes add tofu to it. I alway add 1 1/2 tbsp of hummus and an avocado , always. The other dinner I usually do to switch it up is zucchini pasta, with spinach/kale lots of mushroom , cauliflower rice and a side of carb which I mentioned above and the best Alfredo sauce I found a few months ago, cashews, grilled onion and garlic , vegetable broth (I created my own the other day) with water, a little salt, black pepper Garcia and thym me to cook the garlic and onions, then 3tbsp nutritional yeast, 1ts black pepper and 1cup of the vegetable broth I make or if I have. With 1tbsp of lemon juice and add this sauce made in my vitamix on the zucchini pasta . I eat lots of fats, I try to hit all the nutrition I can get. I also do intermitted fasting , 16hours minimum up to 24, normally 16 to 18. These meals keep me full and never hungry. I usually eat between 11am-5/7pm. I’ve dropped 16lbs and feel great, will keep this up because it’s easy for me and I feel great. The biggest helper is my vitamix a2500, it makes my soups, ice cream,smoothie and sauces like Alfredo sauce etc. if you can look into a KZbinr named simmnet nutrition, he’s vegan and a nutritionist and super super ripped and in shape.

I absolutely love your videos!! But I have a question for you. When you were in weight loss mode did you naturally do intermittent fasting and skip breakfast? A few days of my week i wake at 5am for an intense 1 hour workout. Those days make me so hungry and I can't skip breakfast on those days. I'll normally eat by 8 or 9am. But on the mornings where I sleep a little later and don't workout early, I can easily fast until 11am or so. I'm really struggling to lose any weight as a vegan. I've been primarily vegan for 2 years now. I'm not a perfect eater, but I'm not sure that I'll ever be. And I'm not a junk food vegan. So it feels completely frustrating that less than perfect keeps me spinning my wheels and getting nowhere. I'm wondering if I should give intermittent fasting a try. But I also know I can't fast for that long every day of the week with my activity level.

@WellYourWorld5 жыл бұрын
Thank you Darryl! I suppose the protein % stayed mostly the same because both "meals" had similar amounts of protein in them compared to the other macros. On the other hand the smoothie had high fat and lower carbs and the meal had higher carbs and lower fat to even all of those out.

@@WellYourWorld I would recommend Jeff Novick's talk on fats (McDougall's dietician/nutritionist). Your wfpbd provides more than ample Omega 3. That said, flax is far superior to chia for safety.
