In one of the most famous photographs of WWI, Admiral ‘Rosy’ Wemyss stands in the center having just navigated events of the world as only few have. A distant cousin of the British Royal Family, Admiral Wemyss directed the landings and evacuation at Gallipoli, commanded fleets in the Red Sea and supported T.E. Lawrence’s struggle in the desert. Rosy, as he was known to friends, was chosen to lead Britain’s negotiation team at the signing of the Armistice and represented Britain at the Paris Peace Conference. As a sailor and leader, ‘Rosy’ Wemyss saw the world change around him and played a large part in how it evolved. Join author John Johnson-Allen as we explore the times and life of Admiral Wemyss, and how he set a course for the world.
