HA HA Crazy Potato_Eve is funny!....As to the log splitter, it is a good one. I found that clamping the on button to the on position is safer than the way you have it, because it does not disable the autoretract. Then the stop you pointed out is better used. And yes, every one of these hydraulic electric splitters is slow, but I am not interested in commercial production, but instead use mine for our basement woodheater. And being 74 years old, I do very little fast anymore! I split wood by hand for nearly 50 years, but after tearing my inner and outer miniscus on my left knee, my wife took pitty on me and told me to buy a wood splitter, after much consideration I chose electric over gasoline operated, less noisy, no oil or gas to spill and no pulling to start it, just push the button and its on! Mine is also on a metal stand, and my wood splitting station is on our covered back porch....12 feet wide by 40 feet long. I stack 4 cords of wood there, usually burning 1-2 cords a year, depending on the severity of the winter, and I replenish with fresh green wood, that gets to age a year before being burned. I have a table on the opposite side of where I stand, so that any splits drop on to it, so I do not have to do a lot of bending down. I bring the wood to split in a wheel barrow and put the splits in a 4 wheel garden cart, then pull it to where I stack it, and stack. Easy peasy!

On my electric splitter, I clamp the on button down so that when I plug the machine it, it starts, thus not disabling the auto retract. Makes things go a bit faster I think.
