Even though I didn't watch the competition, i'm secure in believing she deserved to win it. However, i'm glad the world has another opportunity to become aware of such talent! This is one of those things that happens to me every so often over the years since 1993. Spouting off about how mind-boggling and unfair it is that this song wasn't a bigger hit. Literally every single thing about this song is perfection. The writing, the production, the arrangement, the polish, and of course the performance(vocally and instrumentally). Such a moving piece, I just can't even find the words. That bridge actually does something to me physically, I can't explain it. It's like an emotional high that just wants to pull tears out of my eyes. This song is like a walk along the shore with the waves first coming in peacefully; then roaring by the bridge and the outro. All Wendy fans know that she should have been marketed better and her hits should have been much bigger hits. But I would also like to know whatever became of these producers and writers, etc? We need them in the industry! There are those of us who still thrive to this style of ballad---much like Whitney's ballads from her first two albums. That brings me to another point. Perhaps this single, as well as "Come in out of the rain" were released during a time when mainstream music was heading in a different direction. I think if Wendy's ballads had come out around 1986 to 1990, we may have seen a whole different response. Well, I said all that to conclude with this: I can admit when I'm being subjective and I simply like something for myself. But there's no question that, OBJECTIVELY, this song is an absolute gold medalist. I hope I don't leave this earth before finding the answer to why this wasn't at least in the top 10, if not number one.

Another one I'm not sure you ever heard by her is called "whatever you imagine"from the soundtrack to the pagemaster starring Macaulay Culkin. Also a very rare one called "The Way that you Love me" which is from a mid-90s soundtrack to the soap opera One Life to live. If you've never heard them, give them a listen. I'm sure you'll love them

The problem was when she released those songs with David Foster Whitney was still on the scene. I believe the label was trying to create another Whitney. Dave Foster and his wife with some amazing people. Wendy still wins in our eyes and heart. I would like to get in on that if we do get an opportunity to get the music re-released. We don't need a movement we just need to support her continuously from now on

It's so nice to read all the comments from people discovering Wendy after her stint on The Voice. I've been a huge fan of hers since 1994 when Come In Out the Rain was popular, spent years hunting for her music (some Japan only albums and lots of guest appearances). A wonderful singer and person.

I just watched season 21 again for the 3rd time & I have to say to Wendy that I am still just as mad as last year when you didn’t win the voice. I’m so disappointed 😢. Girl named Tom is amazing but you were obviously the best . The competition was very very tough because yourself as well as Paris, Jersheka Holly , Hailey & Jeramy were the best in season 2021, you should have won. I pray to God your where you wanna be.
