The voluntary subjection of a foreigner to slavery is only one instance that it can happen. Suppose they are prisoners of war for example. In that case, nothing about their situation is voluntary and if their master decides, they and their children can be slaves forever without any opportunity for freedom. Correct me if im wrong

A multi-part lesson in tapdancing around the fact that the god of the bible specifically endorses buying, selling, owning and beating people as property (ie: chattel slavery).

Clearly you haven't listened to any of it. Congratulations in not following the evidence and believing what you wanted to believe in the first place, regardless.

Fantastic series. In context these individual verses take on a clearer understanding. For those who want to listen at any rate. God bless. And thanks for the download. Really useful.

Exodus 21:7 7 When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go free as male slaves do. Leviticus 25:44-46 44 [a]The male and female slaves that you possess-these you shall acquire from the nations round about you. 45 You may also acquire them from among the resident aliens who reside with you, and from their families who are with you, those whom they bore in your land. These you may possess, 46 and bequeath to your children as their hereditary possession forever. You may treat them as slaves. But none of you shall lord it harshly over any of your fellow Israelites. Exodus 21:4 If his master gives him a wife, and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall belong to her master, and he shall leave alone.@@Zebhammer

Surprisingly, I don't disagree to much with what you say here about Leviticus 25:44-46. Just your conclusion on what it means really. God is not commanding lifelong chattel slavery. I don't know of anyone making that claim. But you're agreeing now that it is condoned in the Bible, which is a step in the right direction. "Why" has always been my question. But how is the conclusion in this section that recognizes that Hebrews could own lifelong chattel slaves consistent with your conclusion earlier that since people couldn't be kidnapped, that therefore slavery was impossible in the Bible? You cannot conclude in one breath that lifelong chattel slavery was impossible in one breath, and in the next talk about how the Hebrews could own lifelong chattel slaves. Do you see the problem? And you're explanation that they simply weren't commanded to keep lifelong slaves because they had no money, land in Israel, and would have been destitute if they had been released, therefore the Hebrews were doing them some kind of favor by keeping them as slaves is horrible for reasons that should be obvious. But let me illustrate that with a parallel comparison to American slavery. Americans weren't "commanded" by the government to own slaves. It simply said that you MAY own slaves in that laws it laid down. And it only said you MAY own them forever. There was no law against releasing them. But they didn't release them for their own good. Because look, they weren't even from this country. Didn't own any land in America to go to and had no money because they weren't being paid. And since they couldn't go back home they had nowhere to go. So the American slave owners were doing them a favor by not releasing them. They would have been homeless and destitute if they had! By your logic this makes American lifelong chattel slavery ok. But you said American slavery was bad. But America had the same laws as the Bible here. But one is bad and one is not? The question isn't whether the Bible COMMANDS the Hebrews to own slaves, it's WHY it allows it in the first place. And your explanation here is simply terrible.

Did you watch all the videos, because the point is that it is different, different to the point (and I'm summarizing what I understand) that it's more like a employer/employee relationship. However, I understand that many want to disagree with the actual reason being that they want to find fault with God so they can continue in their rebellion. Rom. 1:18-

@@AdamsTaiwan Hey Adams, yes I did watch all the prior videos. I've commented on each of them too. Because this is an issue I really care about. One I've researched for years. And there some videos that make an honest attempt to address the issue. This series is not one of them however unfortunately. And if you've been watching this whole series then I'm not surprised that your understanding is that it's not at all like American slavery and more like an employer/employee relationship. But that is 100% wrong. It was not. And I mean not at all. One of the reasons this series is doing you a terrible disfavor. For example, I sat down one day and started listing the ways in which Biblical slavery and American slavery are the same. I stopped at 10; 1. Owned as property? Both 2. Owned for their entire lives? Both 3. Children born to them automatically became slaves too? Both 4. Could be beaten? Both 5. Bought from other nations? Both 6. Could not be killed? Both (look it up) 7. Forced to work? Both 8. Didn't get paid? Both 9. Involuntary? Both 10. Families could be broken up? Both I'm not trying to find fault with God, I'm trying to understand why the Bible says that God condones lifelong, generational chattel slavery. Because that's the other thing this series won't tell you, or doesn't know. The children these slaves had also automatically become lifelong chattel slaves too. Generation after generation. It's in the Bible but he won't tell you that. Does that sound like an employer/employee relationship to you? Honest question

@@AdamsTaiwan I have detailed responses to every video before this one. You can go and look for yourself. I told you that. Yet you accuse me of not watching them anyway? So in other words you didn't look..sigh.. I've literally spent years looking into this issue. It's important to me. Even learning some Hebrew and Koine Greek along the way. Listening to every video, reading every article I could find or sent my way. Which is how I know much of what has been in this video series is either incomplete at best, or simply factually wrong. You may take it as truth without looking into it, but I could not. So I learned for myself. But if you simply want to accuse me of not even listening? Well all I can say is you're 100% wrong. I did. The evidence is there to see in the comments on each video. But you didn't bother to look..sigh..
