It's not that WE hated Angron in fact when they met him they quickly realised that he does not want them nor like them. Which they tried to change, they did everything Angron wanted just so he would be proud of them. They didn't betray him because they hated him, they turned on him only bc they've realised that the only emotion he is capable of is wrath. If anything they've felt sad for him. The geneseed makes it really hard for the SM to dislike their father. They've literally been programmed to be loyal.

How bad were numbers 2 and 11 that Big E chose Angron over them?

Off the top of my head I'd say the obvious ones are the lion, perturabo, conrad, angron, mortarion and corvus. Each of them had a large portion of their legion (usually terran born legion members) that resisted the changes imposed by their primarch.
