Do you tell your family members every hurtful and embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you despite the shame you still may feel from having experienced it (not sarcasm, just a introspection point)? People will use your words against. Your past is your past, it is no one’s business but you and God. Humans can’t handle all of the baggage that comes from a humans past regardless of how much they say they can so it best to just save those intimate details for AFTER yall have married and even then, you don’t want to info dump your trauma all at once. That can be overwhelming for the other person. I say all of this as someone that has gone through divorce, but had to do a lot of healing and getting therapy and life coaching to learn new ways to approach relationships (platonic and romantic).

The problem with most people is, they don't give themselves enough time to heal and rid themselves of the negative and baggage that came from the ex. (unless you were the problem) LOL. They jump right into another relationship, all the while losing the true and real you. Then at least the next person who you encounter won't be dealing with two and you can treat each other like the individuals they are and not by the standards of your poor picking.
