Guitar is therapeutic for me. Good days are great. Gotta be careful to not let bad guitar days drag me down. I feel the church of guitar.

You guys should do more podcasts like this. Best of everything I'm into. Guitar stuff, future tech , and where we are going as a whole. I'm 45 so this is right up my alley .

Wes is so creative something I lack I can play what everyone else's writes but to create something like 40 stories is so unreal to me his playing Is so smooth and so heart felt

I totally agree about Fractal. It's not for everyone. But once you get it dialed in, it's awesome! It's like buying every amp and pedal and figuring out the sweet spots on each one and how they work together. It's like having a whole guitar store at your disposal. Definitely not plug n play. Quite the rabbit hole.

Depression and mental distortion is the breath given to our art and the birthplace of so many artistic contributions, without mental disorders, there would be no fantastical imaginations or creations. It is a burden, but not one I would likely shed just to be viewed as "normal" within society.

I was thinking the same thing about how it would affect all forms of art and who know what else..

Sounds like a form of post partum depression for lack of a better way of putting it. I mean you put so much into writing an entire album and for however long it takes.

Newer Metallica is karate teacher metal lol!! seriously though I agree with Wes on the 4 iconic Metallica albums, Pantera and Slayer too. After the black album I've disliked everything they've put out, that's 7 stinker albums in a row.

@1:40:00 Would you fix your depression if it meant you had to give up your enjoyment of art? No more music, no more guitar, no more paintings, no more beautiful sunsets? Nope, I'll stay miserable. Suffering makes great art. It's not mistake or coincidence so many of the greats have mental health issues. Even the booze and drugs are probably attempts at self medication.
