In one episode, Adam had said "I reject your reality and substitute my own." and it became a pretty iconic and memorable line form the show. And honestly, from a fan who watched a lot of Mythbusters back when it use to be on the Discovery Channel; Tory, Grant, and Kari weren't all that bad as compared to the crew that they replaced them with. I can't even remember the names of the ones that replaced them but I remember getting a lot of laughs and there being quite a few iconic moments from the show thanks to them. Who could forget the time when Kari egged Tory on to try to bunny hop a bicycle over a little red wagon and he totally ate shit and face planted on the road. They may have been a bit annoying at times, but they brought way more character to the show compared to their replacements.

Ehh... I agree and disagree at the same time. They weren't all that bad (Tory, Grand, and Kari) but compared to what the show was really about (especially in the beginning), they were not good either. I agree with a handful of memorable moments, but compared to what Adam and Jamie brought to the table (so to speak), they were one step removed from trash with their content/mythbusting quality by the time they left the show. Seemed like all they tested, for the most part, were the flashy (and expensive) myths that really served no real purpose whereas Adam & Jamie genuinely tackled real physics issues and real life scenarios/possibilities. Water Heater Rocket anyone? How about Rocket Car? Bullets fired into Water? Compact Compact? Extreme Waterslide? Underwater Explosions (and diving to avoid explosions)? Cellphone Gas Station? Lawnmower of Death (where they test if a rock hit by a lawnmower has the same potential to kill/damage as a .357 magnum), If a gun can fire in a vacuum? Dead body & car/in cement? Underwater Car Escape (not once, but twice)?... need I go on? Whereas the other 3 tested shit like the Speed Freeway Jump, "pyramid power", the 50 different "jump/fall from X height with x item" stuff that was rarely any different/interesting, the stupid ass surf board projectile crap, can we turn X into rocket, and on and on.... Those three had *MAYBE* like 10 segments (in like 12 seasons) in which they tested a good myth and did a good job (tornado glass decapitation is one for example, another is the Blue Ice Fall with the NASA wind tunnel), but it was mostly flashy, shallow, hollywood stuff that had little to no practical use or knowledge. TL:DR Tory, Grant, and Kari were seriously lacking in useful, good, informative, or interesting content/myths and more or less just wasted money & resources while putting very little useful stuff out that advanced any understanding of science, engineering, or physics... ESPECIALLY in comparison to Adam & Jamie. They weren't/aren't "bad people" per'se but they were really shitty hosts and educators in comparison to Adam & Jamie (And the idea behind mythbusters itself).

I was going to come in an protest about how the B team were all individually talented engineers in their own right and it's pretty disrespectful to trivialize a woman in that kind of male-dominated field but... Kari is intelligent, but she was always kind of the "layman" in the group of nerds. She started as an intern at Jamie's special effects studio and got on the show from there. As the show went on you could see her picking up stuff though and by the time they got rid of the B-Team she'd gotten to the point where she was able to add a lot to the science behind the myths.

I think that a pretty subtle thing that impressed me is during the mythbusters’ first verse. Despite them rapping, there’s a clear melody to it, and while Adam does the melody, Jamie is harmonizing with it. I think it really shows off the musical talent behind these battles.

Tory freezing up was not only a reference to the Ghostbusters form of the destroyer moment, but also to the fact that Tory is the one on Mythbusters who tends to screw up most often, getting injured or otherwise messing something up temporarily. Kari, Grant, and Tory were removed from the show prior to the final season, as the Discovery Channel didn't want to spend as much money on the on-screen talent, and removing those three is actually a large part of what contributed to that season being the final season, as viewership dropped off for that season, with one of the big reasons being the departure of Kari, Grant, and Tory.

3 Things to say one the the line about the crash test dummy was in reference to Buster, the test dummy, the Myth Busters used as a human analog for certain tests. 7:20 i have never seen ghostbusters so idk exactly how that plays out. But science equipment tends to have way less safety precautions then other equipment. Because science are suppose to know what they are working with and not be stupid. When i worked at an optics lab, the only real safety thing in place was "dont be stupid and dont knee down and look in the lasers". So if it is a non-commercial thing, i would not be surprised if there was no safety switch

Actually my biggest problem with Mythbusters was that they ran out of actual myths to test out. After a while it almost seemed like they were making things up or playing out an exaggerated aspect of something which made the show slow as molasses.

Yes, the walking statue of Liberty is from Ghostbusters 2. THe start of this rap battle is mimicking that tv commercial the Ghostbusters made when they started their business. When Stantz, Spengler and Venkman get fired from the university, their dean literally says: "You're poor scientists", so yeah, confirmed. It's not something he even should have gotten hold on in the first place as he is not a medical doctor.
