If you allow me to follow up with one more heart felt comment to your heart felt comment: I’m a religious guy (Christian) and everything I have is because God allowed it. He gave me a thinking mind and allowed me to educate myself as a mechanical engineer and if anybody has any idea how hard the field of engineering is and being able to attain an engineering degree and then go on to design and build some of the most sophisticated propulsion systems for US Navy Ships. You think that was because of me? No, God saw my potential, being a mechanical kid since I was twelve years old (58 now). Was able to go on and make a great living. Was able to educate all of my three kids, two engineers and one registered nurse with no debts coming out of college so that they could have a decent start with no debts. I see the same in you Tony. I just feel no one has ever talked to you the way I’m being honest with you. It’s okay dude to acknowledge the help of the Almighty. Your talent speaks for itself. I wish you would acknowledge the Creator for the talents he has given and give thanks for it in lieu of the childish pokes at all the folks that are not as talented as you. Remember, what God giveth, he also can surely taketh away. My advice be careful. Just show your wonderful work, give thanks, be humble and you will be rewarded ten fold. As I said before, love you brother. The floating steps job was awesome!

I know you’d love my ideas and I would trust you to get this done properly. Unfortunately I’ve already interviewed several contractors here in the DC area last year and I can’t find anyone even remotely qualified to get this done. This area is all about stamped concrete - I have a feeling that local concrete folks dont even know how to finish concrete to give it a smooth look. And when I start talking about floating steps, I either get a blank stare or an outrageously padded quote. 😢 Could you please make a quick video to show when your guys remove the 2x4 from under those last two steps? It would be very helpful to see how it’s done without ruining the finished edges. Thank you very much for the inspiration, for challenging the concrete industry and for generously sharing your process with us!!! You are the best and not only in the west! ❤

so how thick is the concrete where it overhangs? 2" 3"? use any fiber reinforcement or just rebar? if only rebar, any reason why you just sink them in? wouldn't that cause the aggregate to separate during insertion process and maybe cause a weak joint where a crack can develop since rebar is down there too? why no ties in the corners? I would imagine the perimeter could be stronger and would hold longer if the rebars on all four sides were tied.. no? just really curious and would love to add this to my portfolio. tx. good work btw!
