yeah, but some of those locations had operating Kmart's in them, and U-Haul bought them and kicked Kmart out of them, because they weren't going to close otherwise. WallieB26 even talked about it on one of his videos.

@@jackson5116 kmart whether people want to admit it or not, is and has been a long dying company! It's a real miracle they've lasted into the second decade of the millennium. They really did it to themselves because back in the early 2000s or later 90s they might've been able to turn it around and still been a competitive player in the retail world. Never updated stores, or price matched other businesses, nor continued to offer what competitors did! Like a full eatery, pharmacy, dry cleaning, optical, photo studio, full electronics department, auto service center ect. Most of those things made kmart dominant in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and early 90s when it was lastly the true Red K- and Turquoise Mart K-Mart we all loved then. Once Sears Holdings and Lampert came in the company was run like shit and pretty much carved it's own headstone. So do I feel bad. Yes in a way cause of the name recognition it once had, but not what it had become! Even the employees were lazy, and just had that " I don't care" attitude that with real obsolete run down stores that only would compete with that of a Goodwill, yet some Goodwills are nicer lol. So will I miss the Sears Holdings branded Kmart stores - NO I WON'T!!! Walmart expanded and did it at the time when time itself was changing so shows why they're dominate now. If they also hadn't changed with the times they also could've closed up as well.

Australia has no more ties to the company though, that's why people want them there. The only places that American Kmart is run and people want them are US territories like Guam, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

Jack Son Yes, I know. I know this very well, actually. Kmart is kind of like a religion over in Australia. The last of the American ties to Kmart broke off in the 1970s in Australia. I think the big difference is, the company managed to modernize a bit better over there since they weren’t under a failed corporate umbrella.
