What I found very Intriguing, is how every time something’s about to happen, Serac’s a Hologram! It’s also interesting that in episode 3, Charlotte’s assistant says: “No one has seen him and all records of him have been erased.” Then they mention that despite the fact that he’s the richest man in the world no one has heard of him. Also I can’t recall a single incident where someone physically interacted with Serac! I was thinking maybe Serac doesn’t even exist to begin with. Or did exist, And now he’s just an Avatar of Rehoboam.
@karviil26734 жыл бұрын
I have been thinking whether Serac is Rehoboam, until the last episode, it seems to have given a solid human background for Serac. But I still kinda suspect whether Serac now is a fully human, or maybe he merged himself into Rehoboam for some reason?

Season 3 of Westworld seems to be liberally borrowing several elements from The Matrix. The parallels I've noticed so far (spoilers) : 1. Dolores is giving out strong Agent Smith vibes with her disdain for humans and her shtick of replicating her consciousness into other host bodies. 2. Maeve is more than paralleling Neo with her reluctant messianic role where she values personal relationships over larger revolutionary goals. She even has the same ability of Neo to control machines telepathically 3. William gave a meandering monologue in yesterdays episode that very closely resembles Agent Smith's "humanity is a virus" speech even substituting bacteria for virus 4. Simulation hypothesis is increasingly becoming a theme in many shows and movies these days (Alex Garland's Devs being a recent example) but Westworld plays it Matrix like combining layers of simulations with the "systems of power" in The Matrix 5. Season 3 has suddenly adopted many cyberpunk visual aesthetic elements with several characters wearing dusters and sleek shades. Dolores' look this season is very reminiscent of Trinity's in The Matrix . 6. Rehoboam is functionally and visually very similar to the Mainframe in Machine City 7. Battle mechs! 8. Am I the only one getting Merovingian vibes from Serac? It's not just that both of them are French 9. Westworld is seemingly setting a revolution like finale, hopefully it's better than Matrix: Revolutions
@ragtimerendezvous54584 жыл бұрын
I agree, but tbf, matrix borrowed a ton of philosophical ideas and concepts from religions, cultures, and secret societies across the world. Two examples off the top of my head: 1 - The "Thomas" in Thomas Anderson (Neo) means "twin" in Greek, therefore Thomas Anderson represents the person who is asleep and Neo represents the person who is spiritually awakened. 2 - They borrowed the names Trinity and Nebuchadnezzor from Christian theology, which imply specific philosophical ideas that tie into the movie.

Great analysis with good thinking points! What stood out to me was that Rehoboam was wrong. The divergence that alerted them wasn't one. Because when real Charlotte was dying, she recorded a message to her son, instead of running and hiding. This was important to her. Rehoboam. was. wrong. Which makes me thing that people have a stronger tendency to diverge in extreme situations, to push past limits or reveal colours they normally don't show. To change and be surprising. And Rehoboam simply can't comprehend that. Which is why it didn't understand Seysmoore's sacrifice or Mushashi's choice to stay. Which is why chaos and extreme situations are the systems weak point. And a lot of it at once overloads the system, like Maeve did with her simulation. Maybe that's Dolores' plan as well

The ultimate goal of the show is the world and humanity. William is also the key to this new world Dolores desperately trying to build. Lets just hope the show is more than ai vs human conflict.

@KolTony that's the whole ignorance is blisd analogy. I used to be suicidal and searching for G-d and purpose. For an objective reality instead of the a subjective one. Afterall if it was truly subjective, then why not just die now? Battled with crazy amounts of depression for 13 years until i finally embraced my Judaism. And trust i was digging and clawing left and right. Looking in philosophy, quantum physics, biology, buddhism, ancient astronauts theory, psychedelics (which i knew to truly find the closest answer was to understand the nature of what conciousness really is, i did a lot of life changing psychedelic experimentation), and all my questions were answered when i finally came to my roots after years of think8ng it was bs and stupid misunderstandings. Long story but westworlds first and 2nd season spoke VOLUMES to me. Like volumes. Especially season 1 and the story where God talks to Abraham. It's called Lech Lecha whichs means "to yourself." The order of how Gd tells Abram to go out of his land is also reversed which doesnt makes sense physically, but spiritually, conaciously it makes sense bc Gd is telling him not to journey outward (out from the land) but inward. Bc like Ford said... true consciousness isnt a journey upward at all. It is a journey inward. Inside when you tap into your subconscious reality you get glimpses of just what really is going on in existence.
@FizzNasty3134 жыл бұрын
@KolTony trust me i know where you are coming from. And thank you it definitely has been a long journey. To me that was the thing though. Everyone was telling me give your life meaning, but that wasnt enough bc i was thinking logically that there still is not point then. Why not just end it now. And i was thinking that if it was a purely subjective world than existence itself is an anomaly and made no logical sense for it to even be here. For existence as a whole. It truly just didnt make any sense. But yea that was just my two cents glad we can share an appreciation for this magnificent show

If he was going to be brought back, it would be the network one. The one on the far left is Clementine, the other three are Maeve, Dolores, and Hector. The network one is in question.
@JoshuaDay05504 жыл бұрын
Went back and watched - Hector is the network one as they had to upload it. So that leaves one on site, the middle (2nd from the left). So I guess the question stands, where did you see his tag number in the previous episodes?

I am confused, i thought the orb that charlotte grabbed was another copy of dolores. She grabs the thing, the scene cuts and then its not in her hand. I figured she put it into one of Maeves new allys.
@veryblackraven4 жыл бұрын
Does anybody else thinks it was Dolores who ordered Charlotte's car to be blown up? Charlotte was drifting away, focusing more and more on her family. So removing said family, as well as making it look like it was Serac's plays right into Dolores' hand.

Also study the opening credits near the end. A few clues.. rebirth and a prototype robot droid coming out of the red goo milk. Pretty obvious I guess.

it's all just a simulation inside a simulation of simulated reality based on a reality that has been simulated inside a simulation of a simulation of the simulated reality. I have no idea why anyone would be confused about what is going on. Obviously Maeve didn't really die by the sword of Mushashi, that was just a failed attempt in her first simulated attempt to beat Dolores. This is really simple people. I have no explanation for the simulated confusion.

We are meant to think it was Serac who killed Charlotte's family , but I honestly think Dolores killed them because Hale was breaking away from her. This gives Hale reason to continue with Dolores.

no later in the scene a black man appears which is pretty much the same uniform of serac's bodyguards. and dolores doesn't have a bodyguard. and if it's really her, maybe it's the rico app or something.

@@gdwn2704 most definitely Dolores hired someone from the Rico app. She has all that money so they would pretty much do anything. But then again it could be Serac.

This episode is such an internal story, that is excruciatingly sad in its nature. And just insane to watch William finally ended up sharing his outlook in group therapy lol but what a dark way (because it feels so realistic) for the creators to foretell 30+ years from now if we humans continue to screw shit up. Great episode, and can't wait to see what Halores will do.

lol I read that as Thandie Newton, that being said can I still put my Thandie Newton piece off my chest (it's cool if you don't want to hear it, let me know and I'll delete it for being off topic)? "See that's strange, I actually have adored Maeve throughout the first two seasons and even though I think this is one of the best seasons of the show I can't stand how they are writing her character just to set up a conflict between her and Dolores. The character they have written up to this point is way too smart to trust someone like Serac. Nevermind that the whole point of her arc was that she didn't put her daughter before everyone else. She sacrificed being with her daughter to save everyone and went way out of her way in order to help other hosts in other parks even though she could have easily made a beeline to her daughter. So the idea that she would just use whoever and risk everything in order to be with her daughter borders on idiotic. I mean I get that they could just be writing that she is playing a long game (or that she was planning to until this episode) but if that was the case they should have done a better job cluing the audience in on it since it would have made what happened in this episode even more tragic."

The drawing of "The Lady of Sulon" looks a lot like Delores. If you freeze the frame and read the text, there is a reference to a "piece of sword that was removed from Sir Logan's head". Logan was the name of William's Westworld buddy.

what I was wondering. with the "Rico" app, are we sure it was Syrak who blew up Charlotte's car? might have been Dolores since apparently Charlotte cared more about her fake family rather than the plan. maybe Dolores wanted Charlotte to focus on the mission, killing the family so Charlotte would go after Syrak with all she's got. if it was Syrak who ordered the attack on Charlotte, it was a really sloppy idea. after all, his team found the pearl after the bomb in the office in the previous episode. he should have known that it wouldn't have destroyed her. and dude, that extinct joke was really f*cked up, I loved it! good job with your analysis of this show (if you ever read these comments).

Maybe William embraced the villain role so well in WestWorld due to the fact he “lived” in books and stories as boy and his inner self resented and had a deep loathing for it that as he would of rather of had the love from his parents and of been able to connect with the real world instead.

1. The coolest part of this episode was seeing Man In Black, Young William, Young Adult William & Corporate William attack William for being in an mental institution. I guess William felt like he had to kill all of the old versions of himself to move on. 2. Whose more pissed? Maeve or Dolores 2.0 (Hale)? I thought these two would team up prior to this episode but Maeve might attack her for killing Hector for the 70th and final time. I know Maeve was annoyed she didn’t save the game the last time she exited and had to start all over in Germany again. 3. It would be interesting if Terminator Hale Skywalker is the one that destroys the world as a result of What Serac did.

Dont know if anyone noticed it but in the final car explosion, when it is engulfed in flames, the front number plate is always clearly visible in the scene. It has a straight number on it, not a normal alphanumeric. I dont know if this links to something... anyone for suggestions ?
@moakeettutsuwa28753 жыл бұрын
The plate numbers, when added up, equal to 10. Ten can have multiple hidden meanings. What I think it represents is the 10th card of the Tarot, the Wheel of Fortune. And because the numbers on the plate are upside down, the card is “dealt” to Charbot in it’s reverse meaning. According to the tarot guide dot com, the general meaning and interpretation of a reversed Wheel of Fortune card is bad luck, upheaval, disorder, external forces, lack of control, disruption, unwelcome change, delays, set backs. And it’s associating element is fire!! (Notice the show runners/director chose to have a specific scene of just the wheel of the car with fire for a few moments). More specifically, this reversed card indicates change but this change is likely to be negative and unwelcome. It is a strong indicator that there is a challenging time ahead and that the change coming may be difficult to adjust to. It can represent that things had been going well and have suddenly and quite unexpectedly fallen apart. This Tarot perspective mirrors Charbot’s current disposition just moments before and after the explosion, imho.
