Thank you so much this is vid is really helpful. One thing though I struggle washing my brushes after painting. Any tips? How would I create long thin bunch together trees/bushes as I seem to smudge them all together so it looks like a hedge? Sorry this is specific, just focused on my first question about washing brushes.

Did you use any medium to thin the paint? Or just mix them straight out of tube. It seems like a lot of paint needs to be used for wet to wet ❓
@Wild46 жыл бұрын
Other than the wet base everything is straight from the tube. This is a starter painting for beginners, so keeping things simple is best when build confidence. As you get better and better you will use less paint. You will learn how to make paint flow and move.... just takes a little practice. Thanks for the comment. 💪

Would this work with acrylic paint
@Wild46 жыл бұрын
It does but you have to work in smaller sections and work a little faster (cause acrylics dry so fast)
@amybenetin96925 жыл бұрын
What do you put on your canvas before you start? Is it just white? Or is it a mixture of white and linseed oil?
@henfc4565 жыл бұрын
I think it a substance called liquid white

I'm enjoying your tutorials and wondered if you've done or will be doing one on trees? I have painted a few paintings with Bob with acceptable success but I have tried to paint Mountain Ridge Lake 3x and run in to the same problem once I try to add the grass and trees. My grass blends into the background and my trees are pathetic. I can't figure out what I'm doing or not doing. Again, your tutorials are great!
@Wild47 жыл бұрын
I would love too. To be honest I think trees and land are the hardest to do (many times I am not happy with what I make either). So don't discouraged. Give me some time to whip something up (cause I have a few videos I have to do first). What Season and Episode is "Mountain Ridge"? You can always tweet or IG me you painting and I can help you with where you might have gone wrong too (Social stuff in about me section). Happy painting :) 💪

What did u mean at the beginning that the canvas was wet with white?
@Wild43 жыл бұрын

when i try to do highlights it just starts to blend with the previous colour and then it isnt a highlight anymore. letting it dry takes to long and with paint thinner it dries to quick for me to mix in extra colours. Solution anyone?
@Wild46 жыл бұрын
Thin layers will stick to thick layers. For Example: If you are painting a bush, really push that base "bush color" into the canvas (make sure the base color is firm) Then take a mixture of 50% liquid white and 50% (any color you want) (here is a video on liquid white - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKncc2d7qNyikLc ) - This mixture will be thin enough to stick on top of that base layer. You only need to apply slight pressure. This will give you the highlights you want. I hope that helps 💪

indeed it does help

nice little beginner demo .. I Like the painting , but was a bit bewildered by the highlights. In the painting itself it is apparent that a majority of the light in the sky is coming from the top left side, yet you drew in the highlights as if the majority of the visible light were on the top right . Just seems to be contradictory to other painting videos i have seen.

he makes wet on wet look s easy...is it easy though?
@Wild46 жыл бұрын
No creative outlet is easy at the start. However painting in the wet-on-wet style is very forgiving for a beginner. I always say its easy to start and pick up but hard to master. If you get a little oil kit let me know and we can do a paint a-long together 💪

could you help me, paint is still wet, trying to add small leaves etc, the paint wont stick :o( help me. Buddy
@Wild46 жыл бұрын
Try adding some linseed oil, or thinner to your paint - This should make it thin enough to stick on the other layers. OR you can wait for you painting to dry and add paint then. Happy painting 💪
@clintstiles86583 жыл бұрын
Why would you paint it white before you start to paint?
@Wild43 жыл бұрын
Clint Stiles Its a wet on wet style of painting - You add a wet base down and paint on top of it. This allows your colors to blend on the canvas. Thanks for watching I have a new art channel ( kzbin.info ) Feel free to follow there :)

How the fuck even. Lol im doing my first oil painting and omg. Completely different than acrylic. I cant get it to blend so nicely!!!
@Wild46 жыл бұрын
Are your doing the "Wet on Wet" Style or are you painting on a dry canvas?
@patty_rish6 жыл бұрын
Wild4Games canvas was dry when i started putting paint down. I feel like i went into it with the mindset that it looks way easier to manipulate than acrylic and negative. 😂
@patty_rish6 жыл бұрын
My first layer was way too thinned out. I figured it out from another video you have!!! Thanks though:) I'm just not use to such thick paint. Also not use to being so patient with the process. Because I'm use to moving so fast with acrylics.
@Wild46 жыл бұрын
Gotcha, So the style I do is "wet on wet" (were you put down a base layer of wet paint, generally white) This allows you to blend colors on the canvas with ease. You can check out my "Magic White" video for an example. If you need anymore help let me know and I would love to see what you create. Happy Painting 💪
@Wild46 жыл бұрын
Ha ha ha - Yeah its hard going from acrylics to oil when you are so use to the dry time being so fast. You will get the hang of it in no time flat.
