Yes I often use a 100 cm double band gun for yellowtail ( kingfish) off the kelp beds in southern california. But there are times when the yellowtail are skittish and will not let you get any closer than 6 meters. Thats why most spearos use a 120 cm gun for hunting these tasty gritters. Oh and you have to have some decent fire power when the schoolie BFT come around. Cheers

A bit hard to explain, but I find that if you break the vertical plain with your chest, you can scoop through the water while finning and save a ton of energy.
