I remember a SLAM mag in about 2005 that had something like Top 5 Rebels in NBA history. I only really remember what they said about Wallace, but just to give you an idea... #5. Ron Artest- representin QB to the fullest, but don't cross him, he'll make you pay. #4. Vernon Maxwell- Mad Max, craziest player ever! #3. Allen Iverson - rocked the cornrows and did it his way. #2. Dennis Rodman - Original Bad Boy, made the tats popular, we all know he had a few loose screws. #1. Rasheed Wallace - Some players like to say and act like they don't give a fuck. But Rasheed Wallace truly does not give a fuck!

I’ve met some arrogant basketball players but I have yet to meet one that gets even close to some of these guys in the officials locker room.” Which stuck with me. How tf can any logical person think that fans are paying hard earned money to see someone ref a game? I’ll work on getting his name for you, it was a few years ago

@iman jones I've got to give it to you on a note. You sure don't hold back punches. Maybe this is motivation for me from a CO, to do everything I can to remain Saintly, to absolutely avoid finding myself in prison?? What's interesting about the gender angle, is if you penalize a woman for doing something bad, you're a sexist (see Serena Williams). I've refereed grade school & high school basketball all my life, and when I'm say refereeing a 5th Grade Boys or Girls game, and one of the teams starts playing disproportionately more physical than the other, and I start calling a flurry of fouls on that team, everybody's going (including the coaches), "they're just kids, let them play!" (Yeah, screw if they hurt a weaker kid, just let them play). Thus, basically, we can't penalize anybody in society for being bad. There's no reward for being good. It's just about who can be the biggest bully, no range of sub genders within each of the two base gender, which there absolutely is. Two grown men can come in totally different shapes, sizes, mentalities, physical abilities, personalities, just like two kids, two seniors, two women, two of anything. Sheed had been told to cut it out multiple times, then his coach was warned to get him to stop, he chose to disregard the warnings, daring the refs to throw him out, which they did.
@arsonhakobyan
@arsonhakobyan 3 жыл бұрын
@iman jones Now let's just start w/ the facts, for we can get all emotional & everything later. At about the 25-29 min frame, I'd suggest watch all that, though I personally re-watched the whole game again, as I'm assuming you've watched the whole game before. He was talking to Ron Garretson (not politely) the whole time as he was checking out of the game w/ his 3rd foulv after Horry circus reverse lay-up off the glass &-1. Ron let him have his say once. Then from the sidelines, he kept jawing at him non stop, so as the ball matriculated to the end of the Blazers bench, he finally said I'm going to stop you now, I'm not going to let you keep going at me, as the Lakers crowd got excited. I think Mike Dunleavy & the assistant coaches, even his players try to control him, but when he gets into it w/ the officials, he just short-circuits, and gets personal. Now Shaq did also get a technical for arguing on the way to the locker room at start of halftime about a play where he was trying to throw down an alley-oop from Shaw, he thought he was interfered on by Sabonis. Back to Sheed, watch the 49-51min sequence in its entirety too, and tell me the refs weren't giving him every leeway to stay in the game. He was jawing at Bob Delaney the whole time on an &-in that he got the call on, when he was going to the line. And that was after starring down Bob personally on the dunk. Bob just simply went over to the scorer's table, giving the team a delay-of-game warning. Even the announcer Doug Collins was saying how they've gone over to Dunleavy a couple of times already to have Sheed leave them alone. Fast forwarding to the episode that got him ejected, the Lakers called a timeout. You're naturally supposed to just to your bench. He was clearly still hanging around the court, starring Ron down street style, half-heartedly approaching him, clearly not leaving them alone.

ironically the reason why he threw him out was because he was "trying to intimidate me" and when he threw him out it proved he was intimidated.

I remember that game and I think it was the West Finals in 2000. Can't argue with that explanation.

Rasheed Wallace, the only play in NBA history who could manage to get a technical foul just for staring at someone.
@itsinthenet

That seemed like a strange time. Wallace gets ejected for staring at a referee, Duncan gets ejected for laughing and Iverson gets a technical foul because he "brought the crowd down"

I used that think refs were just dickheads on a power trip but I can appreciate them a little more now. They're essentially 3 guys in a hostile stadium of giant players and 18,000 animals in the stands

Yes, you're right. What I MEANT is that no one should ever be tossed for staring, hence the debate. Rasheed's demeanor was really negative, but should not have been given a second T for "staring to intimidate."

@11I00OO1I0O1Il It's called don't be a fucking dick, show some sportsmanship; got a problem? Show your skills on the court, don't run your mouth and try and intimidate a ref repeatedly, especially from the bench. "Ball don't lie?" Neither do facts. Sheed shoulda just stfu and got over it, who was really crying here?
