I haven't played Florida much since i spammed games on its release. I should be playing this ship more as it is one of the most rewarding battleships in the game. Mid tiers have incredibly squishy cruisers, and Florida is so consistent with its guns. A perfect combo. I have a ton of fun playing this ship, and you don't even have to worry about cv's very much.
I'm Potato_Quality, a member of O7, and probably one of the best battleship players in this game. Hopefully, on this channel, I can teach you a bit about how battleships are played. Thanks for watching.

I loved nelson like i loved GNE. They are just food to a freaking Russian armored Sinop. The Sinop destroyed t7.

@@roydelpozo4816 No wai. Sinop may win if you go nose-to-nose, but Nelson is much more versatile. Sinop has a lower skill floor, but Nelson a higher skill ceiling.

@@rexstuff4655 i dont disagree at all... that super heal makes it live through hell. But instead of healing the sinop just tanks damage without taking damage. its armor profile for t7 is ridiculous. the only thing it does not have is a 32mm nose. Otherwise its armored like an 8 with crazy deck and side armor. the Nelson can get overwhelmed quickly while the sinop can take it while pushing . The nelson needs time between fights to back out and heal. But British 406 HE is the devil so i do believe in its usefulness. Such a nasty fire chance.

Her side armor will get you killed if you show broadside to battleships. I almost got deleted in one salvo by a Kansas I didn’t see before I started turning. Her nose is lightweight, only 25mm, and will eat pens through the nose against 406mm guns. She isn’t built for tanking damage, but she’s so fun to play with her accuracy and concealment. I’ve deleted dozens of cruisers with only one salvo, she’s fairly maneuverable, and the aa is pretty good. She’s a very fun ship to play if played correctly and she will reward you for good play. My best game ever is in the Florida and she got me my first kraken. I do not regret buying her

This game is totally broken. I've gotten devstrikes awarded for kills across multiple salvoes, while not getting them off single spreads of torps. Like everything in WoWS, it's absolutely broke.

This ship with dead eye was glorious, even versus T9s. Her health pool and wonky armor though is an issue especially after you get spotted. Still my favorite T7.

As always PQ, great stuff. :D As a BB main myself, I much prefer your opinion over the likes of Flamu, if only because I feel you give a more specific point of view from the perspective of a BB player yourself. Hopefully I won't be an average player much longer, just finding it particularly hard to stay interested what with the neutering of the German BB line coming up with the commander rework. So much effort feels... wasted.

Thanks for reminding me to play this ship a lot more. I loved it when I first got her. No idea why I stopped playing it. I had the pleasure though of facing one in my Musashi. Poor soul showed me broadside and I nuked him for a 50k salvo.. felt kinda bad for the guy. Hopefully he learned a lesson on overpen

It's a damn shame that the secondarys only go out to 7.6 km. I tested my Florida in the Training Room with a full secondary build - we're talking Mass/Georgia/Ohio levels of secondary accuracy - I was averaging 48% over several tests against a moving target. And the odd thing is, for some reason, the four single barrel 5 inch mounts on the Florida have HALF the dispersion of even the Mass - 71 meters at 7.6 km - compared to roughly 121 meters for the twin 5 inch mounts on the Mass (according to Fitting Tool), or 141 meters at 7.6 km for the twin 5 inchers on the Florida. I'm not aware of any other ship in the game that has this difference in dispersion between single and double mounts of the same caliber - from what I've seen, it's usually just one dispersion value for the entire secondary battery.

Amagi, nagato, warspite, and basically all the ships with 140-150mm casemate mounts have two different dispersion curves for their secondaries. As most of the casemate guns use massa secondary dispersion

SinkkingTurrtle the warspite not only crushes it tier but another ship that does not care about being uptiered. Great secondaries that shoot forward and great guns ! Just never knew FL secondaries were capable . Then again I do like the Fl laser main guns . But accept no substitute... the NC is still a beast !

I think for those looking at pure numbers stats the Florida may not look like an accurate battleship with a sigma of 1.70, but one thing that isn't explicitly stated is that its guns use a *battlecruiser dispersion formula* and coupled with having a 12-gun broadside (and what appears to be tight vertical dispersion), it makes the Florida very, very consistent.

Now that people are finally getting the strasbourg from the campaign I'm seeing more of them in games, and seeing people try and play them as mini Jean Barts. They try and bowtank while I in an actual JB just pump AP through her 25mm nose. It's sad in a funny way.

I do like the Dunkerque but I have no illusions about her general combat effectiveness. I rarely take her into Random Battles but will run her through Scenarios on occasion and the last time they did a T6 ranked season I had a lot of fun with her. She definitely feels like the kind of ship that would benefit from a +1/-1 preferred matchmaking as she really struggles with T8 ships. Would it be fair to say that the Florida is like a T7 US interpretation of an Alsace?

I think JB would be good even without the reload booster, just because it's a Richelieu, but with actual accurate guns, better concealment, better AA, and blessed T9 MM + T9 modules. Like you said on Florida's virtues, it's all about consistent gunnery. Playing my Richelieu, it just hurts to see a salvo, aimed as well as can be done, scatter above, in front of, behind, and below a target showing a crisp broadside, with a token overpen to spit in your face. Hop into my Jean Bart, I can expect that at least half of those shells are going to land into the broadside, and the French 15's do wonderful work, when they hit the broadside. JB can pop superstructures in mid-range fights, meaning I never fear Georgia or Friedrich/Pommern. Soyuz is a pain, but unless you're a RN BB flinging HE, they're a pain for everyone. JB, with the really comfortable reload + the reload module at T9, is what Richelieu would be if she were fun. Plus, her AA is wonderful; you devour T8 squadrons without even building for it, and you can at least offend non-FDR T10 squadrons. The only thing I genuinely fear in my JB is Yamusashis, given the 32mm skin everywhere on JB for them to overmatch. But, the exact same issue exists for Richelieu, and its token benefit is being maybe a knot or so faster. All this is a very long way of saying Strasbourg is an insult to the memory of the Jean Bart. It could have been good, but its guns are still the same dreadful shotguns of the Dunkerque, its AA is nonexistent, it has no secondaries to speak of, and no speed/concealment to avoid/evade. It's everything not good about the Dunkerque, with nothing good of the Jean Bart but a reload booster, which I reckon to be a nice addition, but not something to rest a ship on. All the other, constant benefits JB has I value much more highly than the booster.

I dunno I was playing ranked in a Sinop. I hit a Florida with about 85% health with 3 AP shells and detonated it. The Florida was not full broadside on. I saved the replay, too.

Is just like KGV with different consumables. I don’t play it as a BB I play it like a tanky cruiser like Hindenburg or zao. Long range HE spam and when the opportunity shows up AP can be deadly.

You should try the Hood sometime if you have it. It's probably the tankiest T7 BB against pretty much any damage source. It is also fast as hell which let's you kite and reposition really quickly (and it makes pushing in very easy). The only real issues I've run into is the lack of reach (only 18.3km range with no spotter) and bad penetration. It probably isn't the best damage dealer but it is definitely a really fun ship to play because you never feel like you are in a position where you just get melted by incoming fire.

@ANUBHAV SHARMA The Hood has more armor than all of those ships. It's belt armor/citadel protection is a bit worse than the Germans but it way better than the Sinop. As for extremity plating, the Hood beats out both of them due to the sheer number of 51mm+ plating that renders it largely immune to AP overmatch apart from the occasional she'll that hits your small areas of 25mm armor. Not only is it the most armoured, but it also has the most base HP out of all T7 BBs AND it has the second strongest heal in terms of HP healed.

Note that: Strasbourg also has slightly better sigma than Dunkerque at 1.80, but by no means is it a saving grace because, firstly 1.8 sigma isn't even great, and everything else about it is not suitable for T7 matchmaking.

My main issue with Florida is that they made her shells lighter than NM/California and both shells being weaker than NM/California. She was designed to have the 16”/50 Mk B, the most powerful 14” the USN ever designed. Why so much weaker.

Nah man she has 3000 Krupp value the best in the game she has over 450mm of pen at 18km the New Mexico has 387mm at 18km and her Krupp is much lower and Krupp is how strong your shells are against shattering higher better like Oklahoma has 1837 Krupp value horrible

GuyOnKZbin depends on the ship . I never care when t10 in kutozov, Massachusetts, or Bismarck . Other ships feel like they get ball crushed on the uptier so I do feel your pain .
