It’s called Gochujang. Everyone in my family has some in their house, which makes sense since we’re korean, but I actually have noticed most asian families keep some, korean or not. Usually we make our own though, but you can find the one he has at most asian super markets.

As a chef of ten years, I can totally relate to what he means by “food can really brighten your day.” It’s totally true, and why I always cook my own meals at home now. I use to be that chef that would get home late and despise cooking and just either eat fast food or whip up a grilled cheese. I’ve totally changed that around now and cook like I do at the restaurant and treat myself to delicious fine dining meals but at home. It not only has helped with my mental health, but with my career and passion as well. I love cooking and food so much, why not do it at home too? I love cooking for my friends too and always host dinner parties. Food really does heal the soul.
