Thank you for showing the names of the sprays along with a visual example. So helpful. I think sprays are so popular since we have so few options for foliage type cover in comparison to other animals we keep (aquariums or reptiles for example). This inspired a series of questions/video ideas... ❤ -Freezing sprays (freezing other items: food, bedding, other substrates, wood, etc.) -Mites or grain bugs (info, your experiences, prevention, food storage methods) -Can hamster sprays be planted/grow/seed sprout experiment -Hamster safe plants? (In the enclosure, safe herbs in pots?) -Hamster safe diy materials (thoughts on colored construction paper?) -Finding items for hamsters in every section of the petstore (bird, aquarium, reptile, dog, cat) -What you have noticed by owning several hamsters. Range of personalities, any similar preferences or trends you see (what type of hide did they prefer? Did most prefer chamber hides? Did your females tend to burrow more or be messier?) -Preventing hamster escape (what to look for/prone cage materials or ventilation/ spacing, securing lids and/or areas where the hamster can reach the lid) 😂❤

@Cookies_HH thanks. I'm usually so strict when it comes to any important purchase, researching for weeks. But the girl in P@H was really nice and seemed to speak with Authority. A week later and religiously engrossed in Victoria's channel and I've realised the cage is ridiculously small. She sold us on a flying saucer wheel and didn't even suggest a sand bath. On reflection probably because an appropriate wheel and a Sandbath wouldn't fit in the Habitat 1 cage. The Habitat 3 is an appropriate size but I've went completely off a plastic based, wire topped cage.

Also I know you said in one of your past videos a recommendation of seed mix and pellet food to mix and I was just wondering if you had an updated recommendation or if 50% Mazuri rat and mouse diet and 50% Higgins sunburst is still your top suggestion. Hi Victoria. Loving your vids! They're really interesting and i'm finding them extremely helpful. I haven't got my hamster yet as I've ordered a large enclosure and I'm waiting (not so patiently) for it to arrive. I have however got literally everything else! As for the sprays, I read somewhere that you should freeze them for around 48 hours first, in case there's any bugs etc? I also heard that about hay? Is this true? I'm going to use shredded paper/card for the enclosure but also hay, so the burrows will hold. I didn't have a clue really about anything, until I came across your channel! I had a hamster as a young teen, she was housed in a bog standard small cage, with a wheel and a house/bed. I'm a MUCH older adult now, so the general knowledge out there, with pet stores to has advanced a heck of a lot in that time. But when I think about my little Hammy now, all those years ago, i'm mortified and I feel so guilty, but of course, the info wasn't as advanced as it is now. I still feel awfully guilty though, there was really no enrichment for her at all. At least I know now, but really, it's thanks to your channel and all the research I've been doing. This hamster, when I get her, who I've already named lottie, is going to have the best of everything! I've already learn't so much from you, so just want to say a really big thank you for sharing your extensive knowledge! Keep up the fab work. :)

Sad story of my childhood hamster care: From ages 9 to about 13 I owned two hamsters at different times. My first hamster was a Syrian named nibbles and he was kept in a small critter trail cage with a bowl of food, a small wheel, water, and a single hideout only reachable by climbing through a tube. I can’t recall what the cage actually was but I do know what cage my second hamster was in so I will share that when I get to it. Nibbles lived a very sad life with nothing to do. I cleaned his cage once a week and gave him occasional treats. I don’t believe he ever received a chew toy, maybe once but that’s it. His cage always smelled awful and one day he passed away. I had a funeral for him and buried him in my yard. My second hamster was a Syrian named drift. Drift lived in the super pet critter trail triple play habitat. This cage was horrible, not only for the hamster, but for me too. The cage did not work and I had to tape bits of it on so that he couldn’t escape. He also lived a very boring life but I did give him slightly better treatment. When I cleaned his cage I put him in a bin full of sand and tbh idk if the sand was safe but he had a good time in there. Idk why I didn’t turn that bin into his cage but yeah. One day I found him dead in his cage just like nibbles. After coming across you channel a couple years ago I felt awful for how I had treated them. I asked my parents for another hamster so I could take care of it the right way, but my parents wouldn’t let me. Three years later I’m here still wishing for another hamster so I can do it the right way.

Hi, this isn't really related, but I don't really know where else to ask, and I really trust your knowledge on hamsters. My syrian hamster is only a few months old, and I've had her for only a couple of weeks. Two days ago she started pancaking or just laying down after running for a while. She continues running after a while, and seems to be fine, but I just haven't really seen her do that before, and I wanna make sure she's okay. Any ideas? Is it cause for worry? I've tried googling, but I just get a bunch of different answers, and I don't know what's what.

Hey Victoria!!! my dwarf hamster has a cyst I think on her stomach and it was fluid in it I was wondering what I should do she’s really old (like 3.5)and it doesn’t affect her at all right now but what should I do? I don’t know if I can take her to the vet.

Does anyone know if PaperPaws bedding is any good? I have used Kaytee and Carefresh and both have been a bit dusty. 🙃

Today I got a Campbells dwarf hamster! My last one lived to 3 years but she died :(. But I named him kool-aid and he is so adorable ❤

Hey! Do you know if orchard grass hay ( kaytees brand specifically ) is safe? I seen that orchard grass is safe, but not kaytees brand. I've already added it into the cage but I haven't got a hamster yet. I'm just wondering so I can remove if before I get a hamster if I have to.
