I hope you will consider looking into some plant based egg replacements for scrambling and baking. There are many options. Please note, no one has commented regarding their own chickens. I had the privilege as a youngster to eat eggs from the hen house. They are brown, have a much thicker shell and in my case, had much darker yolks. They were smaller but in my opinion had a stronger flavor than store bought eggs. Hope this was informative and useful.
@brajeshsingh2391 Жыл бұрын
that is a great point. the eggs from natural chicken like the naturally grown without any commercial objective have the best taste and flavor. The flavor the taste from natural, free growing food is always gong to be better from something that is commercially grown and cultivated. Doesn't matter if its organic or nonorganic. Free range or uncaged or farm grown. I think the sheer process and objective of growing more instead of growing naturally interferes with the taste. Now I do not know about nutrition because CDC reported that there is no difference in nutrition but the organic ones cost at least 3-4 times more than conventional ones and for a family as the lady said that's a big deal.

Basically, the "enriched" chickens are just in a bigger cage jammed in with the same amount of chickens just over a bigger space. Because there are more, they are going to peck more as they are still jammed in together. Ever heard of "the pecking order"? This is what chicken social interaction is about. If they are still jammed in together they are going to attack eachother. When allowed to free range they have much more space to be away from the meaner chooks. Just sayin.

I've routinely gone and purchased these same birds after they're sold off..and they've quite happily lived on our "free range" hobby farm..until the neighbour's dog decided he wanted to try the warm buffet! Each hen had her own name, and knew as well as I where to go to lay her eggs, and loved exactly what she could find to eat outside of the chicken feeder! Me, I didn't always like the thought of what she was eating, and always made sure they were locked up every night to "try" to keep them safe. But it was always a comfortable mix of free range and a coop. The only time we used cages was a crate to bring them home(mandated by law.)

Christine Paolini - 👍🏻! You’ll be more and more thankful as life wears on. Most people don’t get it - food IS medicine. The best preventive health measure is good nutrition. In today’s world of processed foods, factory farming, and deleterious chemical contamination, nutritional education is ongoing. Go for it!

I have been buying organic eggs for years, & will continue to do so. I feel they taste better & are healthier, & also the chickens are treated more ethically.

I am a single parent and know how hard it is to get together money for groceries. However, I have done my research as "free range" and "organic" doesn't necessarily mean that. I have always made a conscious effort to purchase free range eggs no matter the cost as I know that this is best for my kids as well as the chickens. I miss my chickens in the back yard but I have dogs that "love" chicken. I normally buy the brand Sunny Queen they have a proper free range set up where there are 1500 chickens per hectare of land and they have access to a barn for shelter. These guys even have a camera set up so you can actually see how the chickens are living.

@b4iwascrzy in America adding "organic" to a product means very little.... maybe in other countries there is stricter guidelines

@@resresres1 In America "Certified Organic" does mean something. Just the statement "Organic " not so much, but better than not. Either way more expensive to produce.

Excellent info and comparisons. I will continue to raise my own eggs on pasture and feed non GMO feed. The bug season starts here in April and goes on through October in Alabama. My girls produce the best eggs anywhere and don't eat eggs if I don't have my own. But for folks who are all about cost, one can see the difference in the person, overweight and older beyond their years.

@AlyBabnva4 жыл бұрын
@@supercooled it's not a fairy tail, an egg can't hatch if it hadn't been fertilized its literally impossible. It's like saying a virgin can become pregnant. Have you learned your biology? Edit: So if you buy eggs from a good farm and they had only girls there the eggs can not be fertililized, but they still lay eggs ( it's their form of having a period, you can still have periods even if you're not pregnant ) so not eating them would be a big waste of food and hard work for what? The egg would just rot away..

Every animal should get a chance to splay out under the sun, once you see them do that once and just how happy they're it really changes your perspective. My hens will break the door open if I'm too late in the morning to let themselves out. I'm still a small op of like 50 birds, but it is a lot of work everyday it really improved my health since even on a lazy day i put on around 6000 steps.

At the grocery store, I mostly look for the freshest as best I can gauge by best before dates and such. When we can we buy from known farms that have free run eggs - especially in the summer. The difference is amazing. We wander in our motorhome several months a year and have our favorite egg stops - especially in ON, NB and NS.

Oh I miss the days when I was little and spend my summer at my grandmother. She had the chickens, ducks, rabbits. They were running around the house, not the rabbits, they were in open enclosure. She had fresh eggs every morning. They were delicious. And this beautiful garden with everything she needed. Some trees like apples, pears, cherry. Her neighbors had cows so she had milk from them. It wasn't processed so next day went sour but good to patatoes with dill, butter and eggs. Delicious. It resemble to the buttermilk. The food was delicious those days. Even simple bread with butter was divine. Butter had this lightly taste of almonds, delicatly sweet. Good times good times.

I used to buy eggs from the shop until I went by an egg farm. Since then I have been buying eggs directly from a farm where the hens walk free and fed on grains and leftover food. These cost twice as much but worth it when I know that the hens live a good and natural life.

Same! My body can tell the difference right away if I am eating a stressed chicken's egg. For a huge portion of my life I avoided eating eggs altogether because I thought I was allergic to them. I would get violent stomach cramping about 20-30 min after eating eggs anytime I'd eat anywhere so I just stopped eating them for years. Fast forward to a couple years ago I decided to do my own test to see if my body could tell and I bought some cage-free and free range eggs to try. I ate them and digested them with no problem so I thought I was cured of my egg allergy and could eat them again. Boy was I wrong! I started eating them again whenever we would go out for breakfast and every time...stomach issues. The only time I can eat eggs with no problems is if they are cage-free or pasture raised. My body can definitely tell and I thank farmers for having the option of raising chicken in better conditions producing eggs with more nutrition that are obviously easier to break down in my body.

Here in the US we have standard, free range, cage free, organic, and pasture raised. Most folks have no idea the difference in them. I unstand pasture raised to be best but hard to find. Organic 2nd best easier to find as expensive as pasture raised. 3rd best free range. 4th best cage free. 5th standard. I have read 3rd 4th and 5th are really all about the same and that organic and pasture raised are the only premium eggs that treat animals more humanly.

The thing about factory farns and the mass production of food is ITS NOT going to work for much longer according to the UN. At some point we as a world need to give up factory farms for the whycommunity partnership within each community as thats the only way to sustain so many people in a growing population!
@hengineer8 жыл бұрын
Huh? The UN is doing a major disservice to the entire underdeveloped world, then. So many people are starving worldwide because of the high cost of many foods. Factory style farming drops prices dramatically to the point where food becomes easier for poorer people to afford.
