Kenny... a 30+ year fan of the Kings. Interesting take... I can't say I disagree with it. I was pissed when they traded Hali... BUT... Things to consider. 1. Pacers would not have done the trade for Fox. Overpaid, less versatile. So let's take that off the table. 2. Could the Kings gotten any real all star player? No. That trade did not exist. 3. So now, let's look at the trade of Haliburton for Domantas. We lost a potential all star. One that barely could impact the Kings as they are currently constructed. High celiling? I hope so... but the 2 guards couldn't play together, and nobody wanted Fox. So, in the same deal, we got an all star player and got rid of Buddy Hield. Buddy absolutely did not want to be here. Not only did we get rid of a bad salary, we got rid of a bad attitude who had an extremely negative impact on this year. This is clearly a case of addition by subtraction. There were probably two or 3 games Kings won this year because of Buddy Hield. But 5 or 6 where the loss could be placed at Buddy's feet. So it's a win there as well. All ya NBA fans who don't follow the Kings look at his numbers... but the numbers don't add up. Now, regarding the rest... we still have our first round pick... and we can maybe package that with Richaun Holmes and get a Harrison Barnes light? Then all of a sudden, we might have something. And this all assumes that Fox will start playing again with a better attitude. And that's the only way this works. I have been a critic of Fox for the past 2 years, and especially this year. The talent is there... not sure about the mental toughness. MJ was the best because of his mindset. Fox is weak for the same reason. I have hope for the first game Fox and Ox played together. But I have seen too many players (no-namers mostly) come to the Kings and ball out in the first game or two. It always results in a regression to their mean. "They are who we thought they were." So... we will have to see. As always, time will tell. Ox looked like a leader in game 1, but where was that leadership the past 2 years in Indy? Fox looked amazing... but I ain't drinking that koolaid unless he does it for the rest of the season. As for Tyreese... we miss you, we love you. King for life. It wasn't that the Kings didn't want you... it's that nobody wanted Fox, and they had to do something, or the NBA might have revoked their charter by the end of the season. Fingers crossed. Keep up the good work Kenny!

I'm a huge Utah fan, and these two trades have stunned some of our possible targets. We were heavily looking for Harrison Barnes to fill our holes we have properly. I like the king-pacers trade for both sides. Kings can try to compete more and maybe fox won’t leave them in the future because they are always bad. They didn’t give much in the foward spots because Barnes and lamb will work fine as shooters and defenders. Give more minutes for davion to grow. I like it for the pacers because the team structure makes more sense having tuner at the 5. TH at the 1, then 2 great shooters at the 2&3 in bogdon and Hield. Keeps them competing like they want while also getting younger and a higher ceiling as team.
