Since INFJ was last, I was patiently anticipating what it could be… So accurate. I used to refer to myself as the workplace counselor because people just automatically opened up to me and used me as a tool to help solve their emotional problems. I actually enjoyed some of it, though other times it was very paralyzing because I didn’t want to be insensitive. In my family, I was often held responsible for solving others’ emotional dramas. Now I can say, “Not my problem.”

I'm an INFP, and I definitely get sucked into my ideas and fantasies, primarily because if I have an idea I worry about forgetting it. I've come to the conclusion that if I have an idea for a story, for example, to just write it down/type it out, I don't have to worry about forgetting it. It doesn't have to be pretty, I can edit it to my heart's content later. But now I don't have to obsess over it. But I also really related to the ENFJ. I couldn't set boundaries for a long time and just got trampled by people, including the person I had a 6 year serious relationship with. He'd do something that hurt me, I'd tell him that, and he'd either explain it away or say he wouldn't do that again just to do it again later. And I'd forgive him every time because he knew how to twist it into making me feel like the person who was the problem, that no one else would have an issue with what he was doing, it was just me. It wasn't until after he left me for the person he was seeing on the side that I realized just how manipulative he was of my real need to try to see the best in people and forgive them for their lousy behavior.

I'm sorry you had to go through all that. Such relationships can be very painful and can progressively make you forget what you think is right, what you like and dislike, and what makes you special. I hope you are recovering well! My ex-wife also left me after 5~6 years for a different reason. While she was truly a great partner and didn't push my boundaries, I was always too focused on supporting her, being by her side, following her lead, and I ended up forgetting about my own plans, friends and preferences over time. I see that as my own mistake, assuming we were a great team, our deep connection was more than enough and that I should work to make it last forever. Then it suddenly ended, and I felt completely lost for quite a while. I didn't know what the past years were meant for, where I wanted to live, what I should buy for myself, where I should travel to in my vacations. I realized I didn't even have close friends to talk about the divorce, because all of my closest friends at that time were actually hers, and I kind of lost them indirectly too. I'm also an INFP and it took me a long time to process those feelings alone and find myself once again. Keeping up with my writing and recovering my love for playing music helped me a lot.

I am an INFJ and my girlfriend is an ENFJ who I am still trying to kindly explain to her that I cannot be fed useless information about how her day went with people (coworkers of hers that I’ve never met before) because it bogs me down, and I end up procrastinating on creating my novel. Being an INFJ is awesome but it also kinda sucks sometimes when you have to tell people you that love to back off for like 5 weeks so you can level out your thoughts and emotions again, so that your creativity is free to vibrantly flourish again.

I related to both the ISFP and INFP. When I was younger I would always cancel plans at the last minute because I didn't feel like it anymore 😄I also really relate to needing to go into 'Monk mode' but now I'm a bit older, I've started to take action more and actually put some work in to get started on creative projects and it's made me feel really good about myself and like I'm making more of an impact by putting my art into world instead of letting it simmer inside my head, I'm even connecting more with others because of it. I used to not even bother to do anything physical with my ideas because I thought it would be a waste of time and no one would care or be interested in them anyway. My advice for younger INFPs is to not be afraid to take the first step, no matter how small it might be, because you never know what stairs that step might lead to ☺

I get what Frank means about ENFPs but I think this only shows the "jokey" side of us. I've found that I have just have a general lack of "vibe awareness". I'll go along with what ever momentary thought or emotional dialogue that comes to my mine, including dark moods and deep analytical discussion at a cheery party and bringing the entire mood down, because the thought was interesting to me.

Yup, mine is usually about human behavior, pointing out things that everyone does, and apparently no one likes to hear. Like for instance, in videos such as these, most people only comment about themselves, rarely view it from a community perspective and comment or upvote on other posts, and love to say, "As a ..." I might be pointing out the obvious, and I may not.

Dear Editor: It was a little hard to remember which of the 16 personalities FJ was talking about at some parts of the video. My suggestion would be sticking the initials for personality type that is being talked about into the corner of the screen. Hopefully that makes sense.🙂 But then again, maybe others have different, better thoughts and ideas? Great job Editor! We love you!❤

Another thing infj struggle with is accepting criticism. I like to think I’m mature, but it still blows hard hearing something I put thought into isn’t as good as I thought it’d be. Depending on how someone words criticism I can take it more easily if they say it like an advice, upgrading something per say, but if it sounds as if the thing I put thought into is bad, needing to be fixed, my face often reddens even though I know I shouldn’t be so embarrassed and shamed.

I really like the way you came up with a story for each personality. It was probably time-consuming, but i think it really adds to the video and makes it easier to grasp for a lot of people. It’s also kinda fun guessing which personality each story was for and even the stories that werent my personality I still watch (for most videos I do anyway) because its interesting to learn about them in case I could meet one someday. I also really like how you improvise and don’t have a strict script that you stick closely to. It makes the videos a lot more interesting and fun to watch :)

As an ISFP, I never knew ISFPs could be inconsiderate. Yes, I'm really moody and do whatever I feel like and whenever, but if it's hurting anyone in ANY WAY then I would never. I don't know if this is an ISFP thing or not but I'm quite good at observing/sensing the atmosphere/vibes around me and quickly notice if someone is uncomfortable with my activities. Usually in the moment -- like in front of people (Se) -- ISFPs will do what you just said, but if they made plans with a group of people, some ISFPs have no problem instantly changing their minds last minute, to do what they "feel" instead of doing what has been planned for weeks, because those people aren't in front of them to feel that pressure (or maybe they're compelled to do whats in front in them at that very moment instead of the plan). Admittedly, I do the same sometimes, although I'm ENFP, but I push through more times than some ISFPs I know (we are known as flakes too but in my experience, ISFPs flake way more and for different reasons lol). (My "Ne" kicking in right now) Another way of looking at this behavior is empowering for an ISFP *IF* they tend to typically push through majority of the time (activating their Te too much) and then decide to be true to themselves and do what they truly resonate with at their core value (Fi) by "flaking." However, that's a different type of scenario (and usually a heated interaction lol).

@@kellikakes81 I know, change of moods is for real in ISFPs. They may feel like crying one second and laughing the other. I think because the Se is constantly taking in the surroundings and that causes them to keep viewing different things and get influenced by it. The Fi also plays a role here like you said, because Fi doms do what they 'feel' like lol. Yes they can be flaky.

As an ISTJ I can relate to the immature ISTJ (being too pedantic with rules without understanding the "big picture" intent), as well as the other close introverted types, the ISFJ (trying too hard to make sure everyone's happy and walking on eggshells for every interaction), and the INTJ (being inflexible with plans and not accounting for things that can go wrong and blaming others when it does). These are the things I've been working on over the years so it's pretty accurate.

Even if I gave them a little of advice, it still bothers them on the next day. Sometimes I say "It's up to you", "It depends on you" or "I think you should reflect on those problems and see what kind of solutions that can resolve them" 😃

"Why not?" 😂😂 As a rebellious INTP, I will say I love this line lol. Edit: I was planning to get back to my comfort zone but since I watched your video for INTPs, I just realized I wanted to get out of my comfort zone again and socialize with other people even if it's against my will so that I can share my knowledge to them and of course, I can share my theory about molecules, theory in cognitive psychology, theory in political ideology such as the combination of Nationalism and Conservatism and the theory in personality psychology. Maybe the universe called me to watch your videos since I accidentally clicked this and the universe want me to get out of that comfort zone so that I can go in the right path. I appreciate this video!

This is so on point for the various MBTI types of people I know and myself, it made me truly laugh out loud. In my mind, I see these as the 'nailing it' or 'failing it' moments that we fluctuate between throughout easier and more challenging times. When I see those less-helpful behaviours from myself it's always a warning sign that I need to tweak something in my life. Like actually doing something instead of thinking endlessly about it. No more ruminating, time to ruminACT!!! Or something...

The scenario about becoming an emotional trashcan to your friend who is venting to you about a problem, hit waaay too hard! ENFJ - it's happened to me too many times, takers will take and of course since I have empathy for the lost, rejected or troubled individuals I used to choose and attract friends who did not have the capacity to be friends back! I really struggled with letting go and or boundaries. I now try to give myself the advice as if I were giving it to someone else. Would I advise someone else to keep being friends with someone that treated them that badly over and over again? Who never put into the relationship? No, I would be absolutely indignant for the other person over that sort of treatment so why don't I feel the same care factor for myself? It's not all about them, I matter too.

I have to admit I’m an immature INFP. Monk mode forever until some sort of deadline pops up then I end up in situations like the immature INTJ where it feels like everything that can go wrong will go wrong when I’m actually trying to get something done. I do realize that big inconveniences would only be minor inconveniences if I had started working on the thing earlier, but I think I’ve accidentally Pavloved myself into believing that doing stuff is always going to be a somewhat painful experience. 😅🙃

Infj BINGO! You can't help everyone. Had to learn that the hard way. Listen up infj's... * some people don't want your help. * some people you can't help, cause...for example its a friend of a friends issue you are listening to. Or the requirements are missing to do anything. Or you simply don't have the time or energy. No is allowed too and doesn't require an explanation. * some people aren't really in need of help (!!). They play victim to manipulate you. Or make their problem into your problem to be lazy themselves. And last but not least, what is helping? Me doing their thing for them isn't really helping....its just me getting that thing thrown to me every time cause "you know how to do it and I don't". Don't play saviour....play coach instead and teach them how to help themselves so you don't need to help them anymore. 👍😃

As an INFP I realize that I do get very wrapped up in my feelings, and it's easy for me to get depressed. The only way for me to get stuff done is to basically psyche myself out, pretending that I don't have an emotional connection to whatever is bothering me. I hate that tho, feels as if im a robot. I think the only way for INFPs to get thru sht is to just focus on goals and nothing or no one else... AT ALL.

Ironically, a lot of the ENFJs I know have been very unforgiving. Or at least they appear that way on the surface. They are often quite stringent at first, becoming befuddled or peeved when people around them aren't putting the effort in to do things correctly. But when you get past that, they have a warm, welcoming heart. They want to make you into a better, happier person. But not in a happy, hand-holding way. Instead of simply holding your hand, they will tug you into whatever perils are necessary to build you up, and then they will suddenly let go so that you can face the challenges on your own (It is the best way to grow).

Oh boy the ENFJ one was way too true 💀You'll always see me giving people the benefit of the doubt even if they've done something really bad. And a lot of the time, I use the fact that I'm forgiving and don't hold a grudge for more than an hour or two to my advantage to calm people down when they think they've upset me. Person: "I'm so sorry, really. I'm so so sorry" Me: "Dude, It's okay. By tomorrow I'll most likely have forgotten about it. :)" *IT'S A VERY COMMON CONVERSATION I HAVE WITH MY FRIENDS* 💀 I was just talking to my Dad last night about these girls that are just generally mean and bullies but I don't want to judge them to quickly because I have no idea what they're going through. 😭 And I always personally forgive people and give basically everyone second chances. I am definitely an immature ENFJ because I just want to help everyone I can, and make sure that other's are happy. Because if they're happy, then so am I lmao. 💀

As an INTJ, I'm not sure that that's correct. Because by that light, I've never been immature in my life. I've talked with other INTJs and we have yet to come across this mythic over-planner that can't handle the randomness of the universe. It's this constant stereotype that I've seen in MBTI channels, but no one I talk with seems to have ever experienced it, nor did I experience it myself. And when we do meet a failed planner, it's usually an ISXJ who couldn't conceive of something outside of the way things have always been. I mean, with Ni, a college student should not be leaving studying down to the last minute. Something could always come up, whether it's a fire alarm or a friend's personal crisis or a fun activity that you would really rather be doing. I'm sure different INTJ's have different coping methods for randomness, but if you don't build some flex time into your plan, your plan just sucks and you're not worth of the title of Mastermind. Different INTJs may be comfortable with different amounts of flex and back up plans, but we all have it. So I don't doubt that there are immature INTJs. I'm just not convinced that that's how we express it.

I think I agree with you. Immature INTJs can get stuck in deep confusing emotions and brooding over irrelevant stuff, but not having difficulties with planning. Maybe? Just a thought.

I mean when my plan doesn't work i adjust accordingly and make it so that it works but yeah i never procrastinated by studying a day before the exam. I think the immature part of me is "my way or the highway" like feeling I'm always right maybe? Or not.
@jenniferhanses
@jenniferhanses Жыл бұрын
@@klowee5240 I did at one point have issues with doing my homework as a kid. It was math, which I hated. And the teacher would roll dice to decide if she was going to collect our homework. So I was basically disincentivized after doing work that kept not being collected and graded. All other classes took priority above math work that I really really didn't want to do because it seemed pointless to do it. I know math teachers say that practice is the point. But I was already fine at understanding all of the concepts and didn't need to do it for that reason. But I think all INTJs will struggle to do things that they've classified as having no purpose. So I don't think that's a sign of immaturity. Not sure about the my way or the highway thing. Maybe? Maybe we're too quick to judge and cut someone out if we're immature and more willing to be patient and give the benefit of the doubt if we've matured? I don't know, though. Because whenever I've tried to give someone the benefit of the doubt for the sake of politeness and group harmony (since I cared about other people involved and was trying to be a good friend), I've always ended up being proved right. Like, oh, look, I get bad vibes from my ENFP friend's new BF. Maybe I'm just being jealous and over-protective? Maybe my emotions are clouding my judgment? I should give him a chance. Oh, no. Never mind. He just stole all of her money and kicked her out of the car into a ditch and I had to come pick her up at 3 a.m. after he put out his cigar on her. (at this point in my life, if I get bad vibes off of someone, I don't know what they've done, but they're bad. I don't mean that I just dislike them. I dislike plenty of people. I'm talking "I've got a bad feeling about this" level not "oh, she's just got this annoying voice that grates on me.") And then there's the other factor of my way or the highway of going off alone and that's never been a mistake. Some things you just need to do by yourself. I don't tend to hold grudges for people who were more conformist and couldn't come with me. Heck, my theme in college varied between "Life is a Highway" and "here I go again on my own, going down the only road I've ever known. Like a drifter I was meant to walk alone. ..." Eh. Mind drifting. In any case I don't "think" those are our issues. Could be developing healthy attachments with the rest of humanity. Which is kind of in the vein with my way or the highway, but not exactly the same. I definitely think INTJs tend to be unhealthy if they do not care about at least some other people. Then we're like kites without a string. But I don't know if that's immaturity.
