I like that you talked about not just doing the fun part of a job, but the priorities first, which might not be fun but are actually important. Great video.

Exactly! Glad you liked the video.

I think like this about priorities, that not delay important subject or task, it's priorities and delays together
@abdullaali37355 ай бұрын
I always finish what's suppose to be finished first with degree of importance, I don't like delays, because next hour or day you don't know what's suddenly could happen and alter or affect your tasks

Great presentation and examples! As a former JSOC SSG (Ret.'96) and a current Lean 6Sigma expert, I wholeheartedly agree with your approach and respectfully I'd like to add to it. In a modern JIT factory we call it "standard work" and it's a fundamental aspect of high performance teams in Lean Mfg environment, based on "std operating procedures (or what you called in this video the "Team's SOP"), std demand/capacity (or std throughput), and std training".

Great video covering an overlooked topic. Keep up the great content, sir!

setting priorities should be done BEFORE getting deep into a project. Put them into Standard Operating Procedures and train them into the team. In this way, the priorities are always performed in sequence because "it is the way we do it here". Also, priorities of work are but one many aspects of Troop Leading Procedures. Troop Leading Procedures are the things all leaders must do to ensure best performance of people regardless of mission or project. They are essentially unchanging. Note, this is not "management". Things are managed, but never people. This, BTW, is the fundamental failure point of all "administration" systems like personnel, finance, etc, where people see themselves as "managing" records, etc, when in fact, they are helping the first line leaders conduct their TLPs.

You are correct, however that decision is sometimes made at a higher level. We do what we can, when we can, as best we can.

I've sustained a permanent injury, and it's impacted my ability to achieve some of my goals. I bet you could make a great video on the special operations mentality around approaching and overcoming that kind of setback.

I say outside of your MOS in the Military, work on your Marksmanship and Hand To Hand Combat Skills, and for Fitness, Go beyond the Maximum Standards of SEAL TEAM 6's PT Test and also add in a being able to Elbow Plank Non Stop for 5 Minutes, and be able to Ruck 12 Miles with a 70 pound pack no later than 2 hours and 20 Minutes, then after that, Do an Obstacle Course Twice in USMC Force Recon's beyond Maximum Standards. Maintain that level of fitness, and you'll be good to go on your PT Tests
