I've heard these ideas so many times. They've become something like a karaoke song. He starts and I'm able to mouth along with him. I don't feel conditioned, though, because he's just bloody right.

In later stages, you can touch base with all fundamental movements by doing mills, reverse mills, 2H shield casts, and pendulums. Add in some squats + front cleans and you got everything you need covered :)

Mark, thank you for the excellent format to take to training, especially around explaining the small details that matter when moving weights in a way your body isn't familiar with to reduce the chance of injury through bad form ! I have been doing inside / outside circles and shield casts for 6 months now, and have been really impressed with how much functional strength I have gained from them. I also do kettlebell complexes and barbells in a week. I have moved onto doing single hand Mills and Reverse Mills with a 12kg club as my only club movement, and again feel excellent benefits to my shoulder and core strength through doing this. I have one question thought, and that is should I continue to rotate mills and the more basic club exercises of I/O Circles, or do the mills pretty much cover the same ground as if I was continuing to do dedicated inside and outside circles in my program ?

Great info! I have just received my clubbell two days ago and have started working my way through your 2 handed club playlist. Eventough I'm using a light weight, I can already feel that I'm using my shoulders and back muscles in ways that I've never used them in years of swinging kettlebells. Is there a (test) protocol? like simple sinister or murph for clubbells? If there isn't you should make it and just call it "the wildman"

I like the list. A weird note: The 180 degree pullover feels like an evolution of a mace 10 to 2 to me. Like learning the mace 10 to 2 could be used as a means to learning the 180 degree pullover.

I usually throw in a couple of sets of 5 of pendulums on my club days, but my elderly back is usually too fried by my kettlebell days. Priorities.

Top 5 'Best' 2-movement combo / 2-hand [ non-alternating ; rotation must be included ; standing only ; glossing optional ] clubbell exercises..... 1) Pendulum Mill 2) Pendulum Reverse Mill 3) Mill 4) Reverse Mill 5) Hunter-Squat to Shield-Cast 5a) Hunter-Squat to Front-Pendulum Here comes the choo-facking-choo 🚂 !!! 😂 Edit: [ idiota ! The pendulum mills alternate naturally, what the funk 😅, and who's messing with that, no me, that was a serious oversight....need to regroup......back to the board, sigh, but clubs !]

Wondering how people who also barbell train schedule in these clubbed exercises in their weekly workout regimen. I tend to consider them like shoulder exercises, adding them in on Push days. But, given that this is more strength-endurance than pure strength training, it is okay to do them on the days before/after upper body strength/hypertrophy work?

I do them two days a week for high volume at 35LB and it doesn’t conflict with my regular weight training

@@clydenolet736 So, just to be clear…you have no issues doing a rep day of clubbells followed by, say, a heavy Push day with barbells?

I’ve used a USMC ILBE Gen 2 pack. It has a pouch on the bottom of each side for carrying mortar rounds and had corresponding straps up each side. I carried Mace on one side, Club on the other. Miscellaneous in the main pack. Also has specific pouch for camel back type hydration systems.

For I/O Circles and Shield Cast. Should those be Single Arm or 2 Arm? I started with SA after seeing Mark’s original videos for the next best exercises for overweight and deconditioned individuals. I started about 2 years ago with those 3 exercises at 5 lbs with the Adex that I bought. Currently on my heavy day, I am at 13.75 lbs at 6 sets of 5/5 on all.

I ask because since then Mark has said to start with 2H club. So I feel like I do not understand now is if there is a benefit at this point for me.

From channel memory...... Try to do both at some stage.... "They are very different styles of training...." ......more opportunities for learning. Also there's an earlier tetris example for a weekly 'ABC'.....Kbs / 2H / SA, so that's doing both clearly. But also...lets say you are doing other stuff and time is tight.......suggestions to have 'some' form of club / mace rotating into / out of your routine......FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE....😂 So to answer the question, not sure 😁 I'm doing both currently and I like it a lot, and they are very different ! YMMV, terms and conditions apply. Edit: [ see above 😊 , but if you've lost the gut 🤔, taxi ! ]

Maybe add a batting practice donut weight. Has just occurred to me this AM. Not sure how much they weigh. Or go grungy and duct tape some of the little shot bag weights for diving vest/belt on.
