Historically some niche platforms tend to seem to not 'go away' and some skills become very rare eg. COBOL. There are many large Corps that have some systems, developed decades ago, that are necessary but just don't seem to be replaceable either 'too complicated in how they do what they do' or 'too expensive to replace when they are not really busted' as a few examples. Maybe a more interesting question might be, looking back over my past career that started in the late 70's with software, "what is a reasonable time frame to consider relevant skills for job security". 5 years, 10 years, 15 years and then that might be stretching it before it might be a good idea for some essential skills retraining?

@@myhealthislife Well as long as there are people with healthcare needs, there's likely a market for h/care IT services of some sort. Personally, I'd go for something in the BioTech sector for a longer (10-plus years) higher-paying career but for more normal paying day-to-day jobs considering our underfunded dis-connected public healthcare system(s) there should be IT career opportunities out there. IMHO

According Fred Lezman to Jeff Bazos, "LLM is a very good b**sh*ter" However, it is not completely true. LLMs do learn on lots of language patterns. However, they don't have mathematical backgrounds at all. They haven't changed anything. We've been using templates from long time on each and every field. They just can make templates for you so you don't have to find them on Internet.

You have to understand CYBER SECURITY is just a boom just like web3. The core reason why JEFF BOZES became JEFF BEZOS or BILL GATES became BILL GATES is cause they fucking focused on core work. CYBER SECURITY is just an insurance policy in the IT WORLD. It is like extorting money out of the business by pleading (not really, by holding the RANSOMWARE as a shotgun) against mangement. CYBER SECURITY is a service not a business, hence a practice and not a core impactful skill. Ofcourse great cyber security professionals do get paid but they can surpass a great engineer who created the FIREWALL on which they write the fucking rules! In my opinion, CYBER SECURITY will be the next operational job with the rise of AI. The better the development/engineering process the lesser the bugs. The lesser the bugs the more efficient the system. The more efficient the system, the least requirement of CYBER SECURITY. ANother way of putting this: The more iterations in the development/engineering process the lesser the bugs. The lesser the bugs the more efficient the system. The more efficient the system, the least requirement of CYBER SECURITY. With AI as a tool I foresee less bugs and more iterations both happening so the demand will not be as much as we think it may be! Just jump to AI brother.

@@TiffInTech Tell me, how do you garantee that companies will still hire juniors and scholars when mediors and seniors thanks to AI will become 10 x more productive (while a junior can't because all a junior does is what AI can do as well)??? So yeah, AI means a lot of opportunity, but not towards juniors. The AI of tomorrow will BE the junior of today. It will replace all juniors world wide. Basic economics. But until then, let's make juniors believe they have a real chance. Because if not, all coding bootcamps will collapse also..

Coding is still there thankfully , understanding things and explaining how to benefit a business basically will always be a need for work

You're always a pleasure to watch. I have a few comments and questions. First, the majority of people who are not in tech but are trying to get into tech are going to have a steep learning curve to enter say machine learning. This is just because of the amount of math and statistics required. Even with an online certification, these people are going to compete with graduates of computer science programs at prestigious schools. Without something remarkable on their resume, I think these people would be at a severe disadvantage. What advice do you have for these people? Say a teacher, an artist or a social worker trying to break into tech, wouldn't they be at a disadvantage to somebody with PhD in computer science and a Microsoft internship? Now, about the AI market, are there jobs that could leverage a non-tech background or subject matter expertise in addition to tech skills? I know there is a demand for AI ethics, but even those jobs are also quite techy requiring experience in IT. Also, what about somebody's age for this kind of career transition/pivot? I look forward to hearing from you.

There’s so many enthusiastic tech people on KZbin who make it seem like all you need is a positive attitude and the desire to learn new things to be successful in tech. If only! Besides even those lucky enough to get a job report very low job satisfaction, not to mention constant fear of being laid off any day. I’m just glad I had something to fall back on.

A.I. is going to keep getting better and better and tech jobs are going to get less and less (no one wants to just admit that). Even Uber, Lift and Taxi's will be taken over by Tesla Robo Taxi's. Call centers all over the world will be replace by A.I. A.I. has been watching , listen and learning for years. Almost every area even the medical field will have Robots in the Hospitals. Skilled trade jobs that have to go to different sites to do work will be much harder to replace. Office jobs and factory jobs are pretty easy for A.I. to replace. Or A.I. will enable one person to do what use to take 10 people.

Just certifications are not going to help. You atleast require 2 years of work exp and related projects to secure employment.

Just dedicate 1 or 2 hours of your free time everyday (or at nights) to learn whatever skill you want. Lots of free stuff on the internet. Practice what you learn and maintain that consistency and by a year you'll have already gained alot of knowledge and experience

AI is to help us as a tool for developers to develop software better and also to help us in life to make it easier and not to take away jobs from people . if that happens then we all should go back to the old days to not needing money and everything for free and we can all just let AI and robots to take over OMG hope not or we will end up one day like the movie of terminator when machines take over humans to slave us lol
