I'm still puzzled on how NO ONE in the "Italian team" is actually Italian. And many flags in the Venice stage are actually reversed (the green side goes to the pole, NOT the red side). Greetings from Italy, love your work!
@carlcouture10234 жыл бұрын
I've never seen an official reason for why they're representing Italy. I guess it's just because Andy's stage in Fatal Fury 2 is that same scene in Venice, but I don't think that was ever explained either.
@OM19_MO794 жыл бұрын
It seems that SNK originally tried to make a game with all original characters from every country in the roster. The project kept changing during development and when it became a crossover, they have to put Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting somewhere. They put Fatal Fury in there because in FF2 and SP, Andy was stationed in Italy during that tournament, Andy is like Ryu as he travels the world searching for worthy opponents and improve his knowledge in martial arts. The real mystery is why AOF is in Mexico. It's possible that someone mixed up Mexico with Italy (similar flags and languages). They later addressed this in AOF 3. Robert is indeed Italian, but spent sometime in Mexico in his youth and went back in there to help his childhood friend, Freia.
@MattiaBulgarelli4 жыл бұрын
@@OM19_MO79 : "Robert Garcia" is definitely NOT a typical Italian name+surname, and he looks somehow more Mexican-like... but Italian people can look in A LOT of different ways, so basically anyone can "look Italian". XD Mixing up two countries on different continents is quite the mistake, but... I'm not complaining, I'd be happy to welcome Robert as an Italian fellow! ^__^ Benvenuto in Italia, Roberto!

Finally! The whole franchise and it's related franchises can easily give you about 2 years worth of content. SNK really loved to use those ADPCM channels of the Neo-Geo sound engine. Wait 'till you get on KOF 2001, every Igniz line is a mouthful.

If you plan on doing the rest of the KOF games, I recommend tackling them by saga. These sagas include The Orochi Saga, The NESTS Saga, and The Ash Saga, including EX2 as a bonus. XIV I think you could do a video on it’s own.

If there's anything I learned is that is that yoshi means alright in japanese. Also isn't it funny that even in games Japan and China have a rivalry. Chun Lee is China's best female fighter and mai is Japan's best female fighter.

Yoshi doesn't actually mean alright in Japanese, よし, often spelled よっし (and barely pronouncing the i at the end) is more like an expression you make when you've accomplished something but not quite as "energetic" as やった. Alright is a fair approximation but not an exact translation.
@lightningcrystall19024 жыл бұрын
@@OM19_MO79 "Yoshi" is a general expression of acknowledgment. Meaning "Alright" or "O.K." being actually translations for it. Yoshi can be used as an exclamation, however, it is far more often used in a context such as: "Got it", "Good" or "I understand". Given the etymology of the word deriving from exactly the same use over six centuries ago, it is fair to say that it can indeed be translated as: "Alright".

edge lord Umm, Mai is not Japan’s best female fighter. She just says she is. It’s like Chun-Li’s quote of being the strongest female in the world when she’s far from it with characters like Juri Han running around. Chizuru would beat Mai no doubt.

For Chinese charaters there, culturally I think this is correct. Then translated, it would be draw near/come close to heaven, rather than draw near to extinguish, or whatever you can derive.

Woah! That's some compressed story of SNK. BTW, is pronounced Ah-roo-zeh. It owned Seta and was the rebranding of Universal (of Mr. Do! fame). They later reverted to Universal. 3:02 It's Ryū En Bu, not Ryū Chō Bu. BTW, you should use macrons instead of double vowels, ou or oh. 3:09 That's Saiha, not Saifa. 5:45 Battler, not Battle. 6:22 Really? Why didn't you get the voices from the CD soundtracks? Finally, when you get to 2001 and 2002, don't forget that the voices of the Korean characters change with the language settings. Same thing happens in Real Bout 2.

Benimaru's Raijinken is 雷靭拳、靭 means Strong, firm, Durable, which makes it real meaning is 'Lightning Firm Punch' However it doesn't really make sense no matter Japanese, English or Chinese, thus many people mistake it as 雷神拳(Lightning God Punch), or 雷刃拳(Lightning Blade Punch) or even 雷迅拳(Lightning Rapid Punch), All pronounce exactly same as 'Raijinken'. Also you tagged Hi'en Ryujinkyaku wrong as 飛燕疾風脚(actually is 飛燕龍神脚, Flying Swallow Dragon God Kick)

This is great stuff. It would be awesome if you did one for KOF XV. Actually, I found this video trying to look up what Mai was saying during her quickmax activation and whatever she says in in place of ryuuenbu when the move is used in combos lol.While I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, I liked it enough that I'm left wanting more. I've had friends try their hand in content creation, and I know how long even shorter videos can take, so even though I don't usually comment on videos, here's one for the algorithm.
