I thought you said the tritone for C was F#. Later you said the tritone for C was the third (E) and the flat 7th (Bb). I am confused.

Basically a Tritone is explained as three whole steps away right so C and F#/Gb is a tritone. Being that most tritones are played using the dominant chord we use the 3rd and the b7 to express that particular chord. With that being the dominant chord would be 1,3,5,b7 so I can play the tritone in my left which would be the 3 and b7
