My most frequently asked question is: "𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫?"
Trying to optimize for speed of execution will look very different than optimizing for learning.
In the former case, spending time collaborating, doing research and discovery is detracting from what we're optimizing for (rightly or wrongly)
What we want to optimize for must align to what the organization is trying to optimize for.
This doesn't mean we 'give up' when you're misaligned, it means taking it into account and seeking out ways to influence what the org is optimizing for.
