Hey Ben and Russ, my in town grocery getter shakes hard enough to roll down the windows if I do anything over 60mph. (sees the freeway like 2 or three times a year) no noise at lower speed, no squeaking, grinding, or clicking. all the wheel weights in place. tie-rods look okay. only thing I can find is the CV boot is split (victim of the New Mexico air)...can the CV joint shake the car that violently without other noise? my uncle did an V8 engine swap in his chevy fullsize truck 20 years ago in less then 4 hours using an overhead hoist in our garage. the engine was from a junkyard. unfortunatly, he forgot to put oil in the "new" engine and it seized after about 4 miles.

its a 2006 acura tl once the car is turned on its goes away and goes back to normal but right before its turned on it shows that the car is on park and on drive at the same time.

Pick up a parts/scrap/salvage S-10 off Craigslist,or some local shopper paper for cheap,yank the engine,swap them,sell any good parts,and scrap the remainder=maybe few hundred total into the engine if that along with any other good parts you can swap out...

Dear Mr. Ben and Mr. Russ, If you don't mind, could you please give me some advises? I just bought a used Honda odyssey 2010 has 170 000 miles on it dealership. It was a bowled engine, because my limited understand about car and on contract said sell as it.Is there anything I can return this van back? If I can not return it so what is the best option for me? Is it worth to put Remanufactured engine in? If it worth so What is estimate hours to put Remanufactured in Honda odyssey 2010? What is usually labor rate for this work? Thank you very much Mr. Ben and Mr. Russ for your time. I very appreciate your help.

Excellent question! What to do when the motor blows? I have a plan for just such as scenario: 1) My 1996 Chevy Tahoe with 212K miles on it. - A GM crate engine. Probably a stock replacement engine, and not mess with the HT383E. 2) My 2000 7.3 diesel 4x4 - Junk it. $12,000.00 for a rebuilt engine! 3) My 2011 5.0 Mustang - Rip that ugly mustache off the little bastard of a service manager at the Ford dealer that I bought it from if they give me any shit!

I would say either your wheels are out of balance or your top mounts or bushes have worn out.

6-8 easy I would think Inline 4 rear wheel drive should be ton's of room under the hood. Should be an easy fix

Somebody on the Hot Rod Magazine staff had this same problem and they put a 4.3 V6 into their S-10, with a centrifugal supercharger. This was with a carb, too, the original engine had fuel injection; but he did away with that. Simpler if your state's smog laws allow it.

no he didn't (he was in a rush to meet up with freinds and he was only 17 at the time). on ecm's or anything (truck was way too old for them). the junkyard engine was complete and the same V8 engine as he was replacing. i think it runs in the family cause his son did an oil change but forgot to put the oil pan plug back in before he poured the oil in. he even started it up and back out of the garage before he noticed.

When your engine makes unnatural noises and or shakes, figure out why and don't "turn up the music". There has never been a time I thought to myself, hmm, that's not right, maybe the problem will go away... LOL

Every vehicle has problems, pick one for what you like not what other people like. I'm not a truck man, but still respect them. I drive an E36 328i, because I like the handling/feel, appearance, repairs have been easy for me, and I like to drift occasionally (although I have no vids of drifting). When you notice a problem, Google and talk to people.

Actually, listening to the actual problem, he might not need a new engine, maybe just new engine mounts, or he might have drivetrain problems.

get a new truck and service it yourself. eaisly last you 200k+ miles. with new truck= new engine, transmission, tech,. old truck= hella lot more money in the long run. who knows what else can go bad.

LS3 Swap. Hedman Husler makes swap kits for those. GM has the LS3 crate engines that are emissions legal if you live in a communist state that does emissions tests.
