Why did they intentionally make the ladies chorus sound bad for laughs? The ladies chorus is usually one of the best part of Pirates.

They didn't. These are New York showgirls singing in the chorus, so the Bronx accents creeping in is unavoidable. And keep in mind this was staged as a summer production, so the production values are somewhat lower than they'd be at the Met.

LOL, yeah "aught" is not the right word. It means "anything" like "do you know aught about this?" "Ought" would be the right word.
