When I visited New York City for the first time, in 1979, I had the pleasure of witnessing this man, George Rose, perform this song live in "The Pirates of Penzance". Unforgettable!

Anla'Shok Ranger Marcus Cole making Dr Stephen Franklin go bat shit while they smuggle themselves to Mars in Babylon 5 S4. "AAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Franklin screams. Then the credits roll. Approx 2:00 I think is when Jason Carter who plays Marcus keeps continues singing AS the credits roll. Soon you hear someone yell "CUT!".

I saw this on Broadway in 1980. Kevin Kline wore purple tights, oh my! Sigh! The conductor was a woman with very long blonde hair. He didn’t duel with her, but instead he grabbed her, embraced her and boldly kissed her. It was an awesome performance and my husband and I enjoyed singing it together with glee for the next 43 years until he died last year. Wonderful memories!!❤️‍🩹

Everybody's talking about the musical aspect, which is of course the most evident, but I want to point out that I really like the opposite colors of the Cornish girls (white) and the policemen (black). I feel like it further adds to the nice variety in this piece. Great job to all involved!

This is easily my favorite version of this song! It feels like the only one where Frederic doesn't over-act. I really like how Rex Smith seems like he doesn't know what's going on until they finally explain the paradox to him, unlike in other versions where he just joins in the musical number and laughs as heartily as them from the beginning. And, of course, Routledge is my favorite Ruth. Great job, all!
