This is the greatest piece of thought from this video: Self esteem is not the ability to accept your perfection, all the things you're good at; self esteem is the ability to accept all the things you are not good at.

My mom can't see why I'm so negative and unhappy, when she had a major role to play in how my personality developed. Was always living in fear when she was around and anxiety when she wasn't because I knew she'd yell about something as soon as she got home.

Parents are not the only adults who directly affect kids, unless they’re raised in a vacuum. Even when parents were great, other adults in community, at school, in the neighborhood etc can only be happy when trying to undermine the self worth of kids around them, and of other adults. We’re born with normal self worth, but people who lose theirs and don’t really recover will often try to undermine the self worth of others, whomever they can, however they can.

Sir, your right we also need to accept our imperfections. and i notice something the people who say think positive and suggest to practice cbt they always say dont think about nagative events of your life its sad they have views in millions but your still underrated

You left the gap in your vid, from 09:30 to 14:00. A great example, keeping the gap, knowing the shadow, being perfectly imperfect. To me I won't accept any shadow, at least I won't act on it. But the rest will be, will be me. It will make it easy to me to accept the imperfections of others. I asked myself a lot, what do I love about others? It allways happend to be the imperfections. I will invite the world to do the same to me. Desde Sudamérica

16:43 This is bringing up the subconscious fear that I have with conversing with my mother. Now I know why. This was my upbringing experience, predisposed to bottle up my real emotion in fear of an inquisition( like the infamous one in 1300's Spain). And I would catch myself patronizing on others the same way. All these years, I thought it was just me, never aware it was mimicking. Another layer of the childhood trauma onion has been peeled.

I dont believe so much in we become what our childhood was rather I think in we become what we think about and it has more to do with who we are surrounded by all the time. Even if you had healthy parenting you can still end up with low self esteem coz you hang out with ppl that takes away that, I like to say that self esteem is more built up in how you were treated in early school years.

I am still trying to get the part of when you ask somebody how they are doing can be evil. Iis it because when they tell you the story you feel like they need you to tell you the story and for you to feel like the savior? Cuz people always tell me their life story and I am always like tell the therapist. My mother always told me in a way that you have to be there for another but not for yourself😫
