0:00 Description of the human feet and its sensitivity
0:51 How to spot numbness in your feet
1:31 Causes of numbness
2:39 When to seek help concerning numbness
3:20 How to treat feet numbness
• The human feet are lined with numerous sensory receptors, making them one of the most sensitive parts of the body.
• The reason behind their enhanced sensitivity is due to their constant contact with surfaces.
• Your feet can help you recognize hot and cold surfaces and act accordingly.
• Moreover, they help you recognize objects while walking, ensuring that you do not end up stumbling at any point.
• Because of this, numbness in the feet is a big problem. Not only do you lose sensation, but the numbness can also be a symptom of something far more serious.
• Although numbness in the feet is usually temporary, it can point towards a chronic condition behind the scenes, such as diabetes.
How Do You Spot Numbness in Your Foot?
• The most obvious symptom of numbness in the feet is losing sensation in them. They are highly sensitive, and they will become less so due to the problem.
• This, in turn, will affect your sense of balance and will begin to impede your daily life.
• Beyond that, you may also feel some other abnormal sensations in your feet, which include:
• Tingling in some parts of the feet without any contact.
• A prickling sensation.
• A feeling that your feet are being pushed at by a needle.
• Weakness in the feet.
• Pointing these additional symptoms out can help your doctor diagnose numbness in your feet.
What Causes the Numbness?
• The numbness is caused by abnormalities in the nervous system. The nerves may be damaged, blocked, or affected by an infection. They may also be compressed by your muscles.
• However, if the numbness is not temporary but chronic, it may be caused by an underlying medical condition, such as:
• A herniated disk.
• Chronic alcohol abuse.
• Diabetes.
• Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.
• Frostbite.
• Lyme disease.
• Guillain-Barre syndrome.
• Multiple sclerosis.
• Morton’s neuroma.
• Sciatica.
• Peripheral vascular disease.
• Peripheral arterial disease.
• Injury to the spinal cord.
• Shingles.
• Inflammation of the blood vessels.

GET A LEG MASSAGE! I had tingling feelings from my knees to my feet for a month from the smallest leg movement. I got a leg massage and the massage therapist found lots of hard lumps around my knees and on top of my feet. An hour later the right leg was perfect. By the next day the left leg was perfect also.

Mine is from Chemotherapy. I was on my 4th cycle when the tingling and numbness started in my feet. It was awful....made it tough to walk or stay well balanced. It's been almost a year now and it has localized to just my toes so I consider myself blessed that some of it has subsided.

I have chronic lymphedema in both feet, which makes the tingling much worse. The extra swelling requires wearing compression stockings. Get burning and redness. Been tested for many of the issues cited in this video. No firm diagnosis. Very frustrating. Only things that help are elevating feet and vigorous cardio workout, which gets circulation cranking. I occasionally feel numbness in my feet after sitting for a while. It will go away after I stand up and walk. I have some body checkups. And I don’t have any diabetes and sciatica. I believe the prolonged sitting causes my calf muscles tightened up and reduce blood flow to my feet. A few years ago, a doctor found out I have anxiety. It also explains my acid reflux and pelvic floor pain. I am not sure whether my anxiety also causes the numbness in my feet. But I believe they are related because anxiety can actually causes this.

Push your toes down. Then pull your toes all the way back for a calf stretch. Push your toes down. Calf stretch again. But hold the position long enough to get a good stretch. Also make circles with your feet. I like to do my left foot clockwise and my right foot counterclockwise. But all of these are slow circles or the calf stretch is holding the position long enough to get a stretch. After exercising the feet and calves and getting a good stretch that will promote blood flow. But if your whole body is out of shape you might have a pinched nerve in a lower back or something. We were told. Remember when you were at school in Phys Ed class to do daily exercise. If we actually did daily exercise so many problems would be reduced. I have heard excuses of saying, have a disease. Exercise won't make the disease go away. Are you sure about that? Even if exercise doesn't make the disease go away. Being in better shape is good for all people. Someone with a disease who exercises will feel better . So even if you have diseases it doesn't mean you can stop exercising. And if you are so out of shape or very old that is still starting small and working your way up the same as it is for a teenager in phys ed class, or a weightlifter. Actually if you get some dumbbells and lift weights it will make a major difference very quickly. But we learned all this in Phys Ed class. I'm not sure how we forgot. It's supposed to be every day. Even if you're in bed. You can do circles with your feet. Point your toes. Stretch the calves. Point your toes. Stretch the calves. Point your toes. Stretch the calves. Point your toes. Stretch the calves. Point your toes. Stretch the calves. Wow! How quickly it restores blood flow! Point. Stretch. Point. Stretch. Don't stop! That is the mistake I always make. I do two or three and then I stop. Why the hell do I stop? Don't I want to feel better? Now imagine if it was not just the feet but every single part of your body that you exercise every single day. Do you really think it's impossible to get healthy? It's not worth it? Cheers everyone.

In my case I'm quite sure it's Long COVID. I had caught COVID (after 2 CoronaVac vaccines plus Pfiser booster) last January. I had bad cold symptoms for a month (very unusual for me to last more than 4 days, and I usually don't get sick). But a week before the symptoms of COVID toes and fingers started and continued for 6 weeks. Severe itchiness and numbness. To be able to sleep at all, I had to soak both in very hot water for 10 min before bed. What continues even now is: slight numbness in toes (constant); some itchy bumps (look like mosquito bites) in random places; more tiredness and lack of focus than before. At 17 I had had mild frostbite on my feet and after that always had numb toes in cold weather, but this is different and is constant. It's good to read others' accounts as it inspires me to stretch my toes more and not give up on improvement! (BTW 4 years ago I had lower back pain and completely cured that by cutting out sugar and carbs....I do intermittent fasting too, though OMAD is usually too difficult for me!)

If you're experiencing numbness and are concerned about it, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional. Numbness can be caused by various factors, including poor circulation, nerve compression, or underlying medical conditions. The appropriate course of action would depend on the underlying cause. In general, avoiding prolonged pressure on a specific area, improving posture, staying hydrated, and maintaining overall good health may contribute to reducing the likelihood of numbness. However, for personalized advice, it's crucial to seek guidance from a healthcare provider who can assess your specific situation and recommend appropriate measures.

Guys if you want to greatly reduce tingling sensations on your legs and feet real quick, you need to do just 2 things. The first one is to eat 1 piece of garlic every day or 3 garlic tablets. This will cause the burning painful sensation to go away after a few days. The second one involves a partially invasive procedure. Its called Hijama or Wet cupping. It has been used by the Isrealites in the middle east in ancient times and even swimmer Michael Phelp uses it. Not to be confused with Dry Cupping by the Chinese which is not that effective. Wet cupping is far more effective. Tell the person to cup the areas of your peripheral neuropathy area such as the legs. I have given up western style medicine because all they did was to provide drugs which has a lot of side effects and painkillers. Also, in the long term, stop eating simple carbohydrates and do fasting (do not eat or drink) for 12 hours every day. This will allow your body to repair itself naturally. Just eat protein and natural fats. Finally, totally avoid foods with MSG because that is a big culprit like fast food, instant noodles and processed foods like Doritos..

My Right hand is numb and tingling when I lie on my right shoulder . Is this a pinched nerve ?

My feet tingle, the skin on the soles feels like cardboard and it feels like I have sand in-between my toes. All this is most apparent when laying in bed at night. I put the cause down to the chemotherapy I had after my colon cancer operation. My finger tips were also affected and couldn't stand cold weather for approximately 3 years after the chemo, they have since gone back to normal sensation. Whilst the symptoms aren't good better to have had the chemotherapy and still be alive than the alternative.

@@MsIndieMe For the tingling, no. Just thick socks, socks in bed, too. Woolly hats, pulled down over my ears. I wore gloves all the time. My wife got me some plastic handled cutlery, I couldn't stand the cold metal of the stainless steel cutlery, on my fingers. All extremities suffered (even the 'middle' one). I'm pleased to say the symptoms have reduced over the years, my feet and penis have lingering issues but maybe some of that is my age, 70. Good luck with your recovery.

I haven't touched aspirin in many years (I'm on Xarelto). It's not the aspirin; more likely you're a diabetic and should have an endocrinologist verify your condition!

@@bobboscarato1313 Yeah, I was thinking it could be diabetes. if I keep my sugar intake down and protein levels up it seems to be better. But I really need to exercise more too.

I had numbness in my feet near the base of the toes. Sometimes a tingle as well. I bought an electric foot massager and use it about twice a week, it seems to stimulate the nerves in my feet and solves the problem very well. I don’t have any great problem that causes this condition but l an 70 years of age and don’t exercise much so l guess it is just the feet feeling the age first.

This drives me nuts, the whole of the surface of my foot is constantly feeling this way. The nerves are the problem . If I don't sit on the floor with my legs out infront of me. If not they go red then purple. Getting out of breath, tingling fingers, dizziness, falling down, vertigo, can get things ,ie , splinter, dog hair, small bits of gravel inbedded in my feet. Need to sit down constantly, unable to walk far. Dolly steps . Unsure of stepping awkwardly. My brain just doesn't understand what is going on.
