Who gives someone a $20,000 ring? More specifically who gives another man an expensive ring. Its an odd thing to do.

Naw. It's called a peace offering. It's not like he cut him a check or stuffed some cash in his pocket. Although pulling off a ring and offering that as a gift is still kinda douchey

I found David Blaine's assistant's cell phone in a booth at a club in Manhattan about 20 years ago, it was a blue Nokia 3310. We pranked Blaine like crazy for weeks until he finally changed his numbers. He would get so pissed and yell at us in his creepy David Blaine voice.

This was my issue with his Vegas show. He spent the end of it talking about kids' cancer and giving a donation. I will catch hate for being took wrong, but I would rather the tickets cost more, and part go towards this cause or talk about it at the beginning of the show. So many people have dealt with and are dealing with the same thing and probably went to a show or Vegas to not hear about the saddest thing most of us could think of. I am so happy that he does all he does for the cause and am torn at times typing this but still think the delivery is wrong.

You are not wrong or an a-hole. This dude is just as bad of an attention who're as Steve O is. Except Steve knows and tries to work with that fact. Chris Angel is the type of guy who even when doing something good i.e. Cancer Charity, he does it in this horribly tacky way. Which explains it all. The whole style of his show was his idea. He's the tacky one. David Blaine is cool and real. This guy is all surface level. I hope the best for his kids. For real.
@Tayk19873 ай бұрын
@riot_cats Tha ks for not being a troll like I'll get if more replys come this way. I felt like I typed too much as it was and just wanted it off my chest because I have talked about this several times and even very recent about my times in Vegas. I've been 11 times which is a lot too as many as it is nothing to but I still think most want an escape and not to hear possibly the saddest thing possible at the end of an expensive trip and show eetc etc.
@riot_cats3 ай бұрын
@@Tayk1987 yeah, beyond what I was saying in my comment, you're absolutely right. ESPECIALLY being fuckin blindsided by it after a magic show 😂 All the middle age millennials and random older people who have no idea who this cringe fest of a guy is, and they see him do bad magic, then he talks about cancer. What a bummer 😂😂

This makes sense to me, and as someone who does community work and as a cancer survivor, I want to add that - I’m not accusing him of anything in pointing this out, but my experience with large platform fundraisers has taught me to look out for two major red flags - telling people how much you’ve raised and overstating how legitimately the donations are used. When people say “so many million raised and every cent goes to cancer treatment” instead of listing newly started programs, naming staff hired, or explaining building/equipment acquisitions from such fundraising, it always makes me wonder what is really going on.

@pigwing22 that's a gesture of respect, if he wanted to give him a gift he would have wrapped something and put a Shiny red bow on it 🎀 . He was paying dues, but Blaine can't comprehend human gesture so 🤷
