You know, this actually reminds me of the book "The Rainmaker" by John Grisham. It's fiction, but every point here seems to match a plot point in Rainmaker. I highly recommend this book to anyone angry at the US healthcare system. Also regarding the Katrina segment, I am married to a Katrina survivor. His hometown wasn't affected as much as New Orleans but you can go down the coast near his town and there are still broken buildings and empty lots TO THIS DAY, some of which probably belonged to people who were screwed over by their insurance companies.

I'm sure. Everyone has a story. I paid out-of-pocket to have my daughter with the midwife.And although I could have been compensated up to 75%, i knew it would be a fight so I didn't bother and I paid 5 grand out-of-pocket myself to avoid it.Because what new parent has time to fight insurance companies.
