I agree with so much of what you said, I do have a problem with the leaders of the Christian community who have sat back and let our rights be trampled and basically they’ve caved to every mandate that has been issued and it seems they’re only interested in their well-being financially and not taking care of the flock regarding their freedom. The Pharisees of today are still puffed up like leavened bread and that includes the church and the state. Being a successful and ethical leader must demonstrate a servant attitude. On that note have a great day I’m looking forward to a great awakening !

I was just talking about this. I am not sure when things changed but I know my parents were impacted. In the late 70/80's (my memory) jobs stopped paying as well and were harder to get. My step dad eventually did some government supported education retraining (i cant remember the name of the program). Also, retirement benefits and insurance coverage changed to much lower quality. I have memories of my parents worried talks about the direction of things. I remember feeling sad for them. I think about the same time higher education started being used more as a ceiling or barrier to upward mobility (hence my step dad feeling he had to go back to school which did help them some but not truly making a difference financially). Some jobs became out of reach where before you could learn from within and move up. I know that can still happen today but I feel like there was definitely a shift for most blue collar or individuals who didnt gonon to higher education. Like compared to my grandfather who had nice solid pension worked his way up in a company, had a genuine pride for the company and his role, had good home and savings. Much harder for my parents who worked very hard too but often their companies shut down payed very little or had no benefits. I was younger then so my thoughts are around memories and noticing these changes as a younger person. Anyway wanted to comment, I don't hear people talk about this much.

My parents, God Bless Them, got into camping when I was 10 years old, 65 years ago. We camped everywhere in primitive campgrounds with no adminatives and loved it. When they retired, they crisscrossed the USA, camping and loving it including three trips to Alaska and camping each day except for Saturday night when they stopped to find a church to attend Sunday morning. Monday, back on the road to the next adventure and continued doing so for sixteen years. Yes, they paid cash for it all, Airstream and truck. What they needed was all paid for in cash by saving for it including their retirement plans in camping across every state including beautiful Alaska with no credit cards, just travelers checks, for those who remember them. Lord, I wish those days hadn't ended. We would have been so much better off today if their weren't so many people in debt up to their eyeballs.

I too remember my parents using Travelers Checks when traveling when we were kids. They saved money for a whole year to take us on one vacation trip. I remember clearly the book of $50 checks kept in my mother's purse and how she handled it so carefully. It was our means for travel and living on the trip. As you said, credit was not used for such things. My parents never had a gas card. They didn't get a credit card until they were in their 50's and that was only because they needed one to make a hotel reservation. It made my Dad mad that he was forced to get one! My, how times have changed. Thanks for sharing your story sir. It reminded me of where I came from and how I should never forget the example set before me by my parents.

Be grateful you are from the last generation to be lucky enough to own a home & have at least some semblance of hope. Most of my friends are either homeless, living in a 1 bedroom, or living with family. This irresponsible kicking of the can has made it nearly impossible for us 40 somethings to have a home, let alone a family. I stopped counting all my friends who've killed themselves at 10. I don't believe most people are aware of exactly how bad things really are. Mine is the first generation to have a lower life expectancy (& lower quality of life) than its parents, has more diseases than are quantifiable, we're eating foods virtually devoid of nutrients (both genetically & micro/macro nutrients), full of toxins/"forever chemicals" that 100% cause health problems (including unnatural hormonal imbalances), there's even an order of magnitude increase in inter gendered babies being born...this is unprecedented (except in occasional frog populations). Finances are the least of our worries. Be grateful you aren't aware the impossible depths of our biological problems. It's not hyperbolic to say the end of organic, carbon based life as we know it is on mans doorstep. NASA & DARPA understand the impossible complexity of the mess we've gotten ourselves into, knowing the extinction of Homo sapiens is here, all we can do is try to enjoy what remains of the ride.

@@jayray2513 That's great, but the bank made much more money than you did on the deal, but that was the trade-off. It allowed you to buy into housing earlier in a rising asset value market. You were then able to leverage that new collateral into a larger property/home with another loan (probably smaller through, or maybe cash offer). You made money by being able to enter a rising market. There was no guarantee that home prices would continually rise, but over the long term this was likely the case. Low interest rates and the federal reserve have kept this particular asset bubble inflated by buying billions in mortgage-backed securities every month and treasuries, which helps to artificially keep borrowing rates low and accessible to most people, albeit dramatically increasing home values. We are now at the point with rising interest rates, the Fed tapering of MBS purchases, and general inflation without corresponding wage growth, that the average consumer can no longer afford to buy a home. What happens when demand dries up now that borrowers cannot qualify for mortgages? Home prices don't always go up; we're about to learn this lesson in spades. Now is the time we need your grandfather's sage advice more than ever. Get out of debt and more speculative assets than you need (home flippers). The times are a 'changing. It always seems that the same mistakes are repeated once the elder generation with those particular life lessons passes on.

We are living in the END times, the 7year Tribulation with the Antichrist is right around the corner, that's GOD'S judgement upon all unbelievers! But there is hope - get saved and be rapture ready: accept JESUS CHRIST as your Lord and Savior today!!! Please study biblical end times prophecy; listen to Dr. Ron Rhodes on end times chronology. I'm a secretary at a small ambulance dealership. Today we got a notice that a supplier could no longer honor the price quotes given at the time an order was placed. They said a 7% surcharge would be added to CURRENT orders! Well... you know how that affects us, as dealers! We've got to do the same thing, or go under! Meanwhile, our customers are grasping for federal grant money... because they've got to have replacement vehicles, equipment, etc... The entire system is on the verge of tanking completely. Just because the machines' "depreciation for Taxation Purposes" has been "used up" does Not mean their "usefulness for the purpose" has been. "Repair & Refurbishment" can keep them appropriately functional For Many Years. I'm m sure that ( as Electric Cars take a bite out of the need for Experienced "Car Mechanics" the ability to select "the best" from those ranks (at a Reasonable $) to for a Refresh & Renew shop of your own. Rural folks have no affordable alternative now for "First Responder" equipment. As these times go forward, even many Suburban ( & a Few City ) govts will not be able to "Bond/Tax for Bond repayment" to buy EVERYTHING NEW. YOUR Margins won't be as "generous" & the Business will be More Complex, but Demand will only Increase if you handle it reasonably. Old AGGIE here, Peace, Good Health, & Blessings in the times ahead

Well Alan We are RV people from a while back (1984.) What got us into RVing was the ability to take our 5 kids camping and let them see the world, at least domestically. We realized that it was expensive but well worth the adventures with our kids and little dogs. However, now days it is not worth the cost of driving anywhere and paying the ridiculous campground fees and high price of fuel along with the inflated grocery prices. Furthermore, you may not want to hear this but politics is what got us here. It is either accept the huge prices related to RVing or stay home and get older and watch TV. One last bit of info is that it's getting a lot more dangerous out there but that's a topic for another conversation which includes politics too.

After taking everything I had, she abducted my 3yr old dog & my stroked out broken brained self to a small meth town 1.5hrs away. She then tried to kill me with my own car twice, nearly ran into semis (for entertainment), then tried to extort my family for more $ to give to her meth dealers. Oh, & I had to fight her off when she attacked me with my own screwdriver, after emptying a bottle of febreeze onto my face while child locked into my own car. I could go on, but it only gets more insane. Happy "kindnessing"!

I took him aside and said, he kiddo you have a choice to respond a different way. I explained to him the expectation of respect even in a disagreement. When I finished, he agreed and thanked me. He said, I had not thought of it that way before. I told him, I’m sure your a great young man. Let people see that side of you. You will do better in life. I pray he chooses different the next time. We need to speak up to these young people and correct them. If they don’t get it at home it’s our job to teach them as a community. Often times they listen and are thankful. Most of these kids have no guidance and need someone to care enough to say NO! I expect a different behavior. They will often step up and meet the challenge. I’m praying for us all. Thank you for your reminder to take care of one another. That is a needed message.

I do not understand how anyone can tolerate being deeply in debt, pretending to be wealthier than they really are and faking a lifestyle that is far beyond their means. I would not be able to sleep at night if I had all those massive debts and spent so much energy keeping up appearances. To me, half the fun of acquiring something is anticipating the purchase while saving up for it, then hunting for the best price and best quality and then paying for it in full at the time of purchase. My spouse and I own outright where we live, own outright both our vehicles and we pay off our monthly credit card statements in full every month. And yes, we own our RV outright too. We have chosen to live frugally, and we never pay anyone to do for us those tasks we are able to do for ourselves. We do our own landscape maintenance and wash our RV ourselves. Most of the clothes in our closets were bought from thrift shops or clearance racks. Most of our meals are cooked at home. Most of the furniture in our home was bought on clearance or given to us by relatives. And we take good care of what we have to make our possessions last for lots of use. We make our own coffee drinks at a fraction of what a Starbuck's drink would cost. On the occasions when we do eat at a restaurant, it is when we have a two-for-one coupon or when the portions are so large that we bring half the food home for a second meal. When we travel across country in our RV, we do a lot of dispersed camping or stay at lower cost campsites well away from the most popular and costly tourist areas. We can travel in our tow vehicle if we want to visit a popular attraction -- we do not need to camp close by on a campground with resort style amenities. Forget about Disney World and other money-sucking tourist traps, we prefer to watch a sunset in a desert landscape or go rockhounding or go hiking in the natural beauty spots well away from the tourist crowds. If there is another recession or financial depression, it will be sad seeing the financially unprepared suffer. And there will be opportunities for the thrifty folks, who have cash savings and little or no debt, to buy some real bargains.

How about college educated people with Doctorate degrees that became fully disabled at 50 had to sell house and spouse making enough money to get small mortgage for small house in crime neighborhood. Then he became disabled at 50 and we had to use his 401K to pay mortgage because you can’t even earn anything while waiting for decision. Well he was mentally disabled and the government made him try every mental drug not even indicated for his condition. So he had hard time finding Psychologist that accepted Medicaid so I’m sure info required for him to qualify was scanty. His Psychiatrist didn’t accept Medicaid but didn’t turn account into collections because he was determined to get it for him. Problems are also he has many other diseases that were treated by providers and Hospitals that didn’t accept Medicaid and he had many surgeries and ended up with $300,000 debt and providers with no financial assistance. He finally got it 4 months before we went into foreclosure. So he got back pay and we hired people through a small local Facebook to help fix up house and property and sold in 2019 and we are over 60 and have $40,000 left and renting for $2,600 cheapest and he got his disability benefits cut because an Equifax report claimed he made $50,000 in 2020 and still working. We can’t get case worker or lawyer, nobody will help because there is little profit for taking disability overpayment cases. So we are using our equity and can’t get food stamps, housing assistance and we can’t retire until 67. We will be homeless in a couple of years and I am bedridden. What to do? We have exhausted any resources and can’t afford to move to State with cheaper rent because there is no one else in the Country that can provide us with healthcare and prescription assistance we need unless move East Coast and live West Coast. Our diseases are rare and have no cure. I am completely bedridden and he can’t drive and a neighbor gets groceries but we have to pay for transportation for medical procedures. We have so much in collections. DISABILITY CARE IN THIS COUNTRY IS A JOKE. The benefits are less than the poverty level . We need to invest and have been trying to get help since I can use my fingers( lost motor control in hand) and worked for so long to regain, husband can’t type or make any sense when he talks except for some Spanish (from college) just started. I have contacted just about every financial advisor in my State and can’t get response taking no more clients. I am lost we have no living relatives except my sister who is housing her grown children and no more room. Long sad story about our family. He needs double kidney transplant because of rare autoimmune disease and needs dialysis or he will die. He got it in 2018. And they provide transportation. But who is going to donate a kidney to a 65 year old with multiple diseases. He will need to be on dialysis for life and needs occasional surgeries to remove the cysts. He also only has one lung because of Sarcoidosis. I also have Interstitial Cystitis when flares need to self cath. So I will have to be unclothed somewhere outdoors and live in a tent maybe a Community Center. We can’t get assistance unless we have $5,000 and that includes our furniture etc. AMERICA is BAD. We need help but have tried.

I consider myself lucky I purchased my Allegro Bus in 16 when Tiffin was still family owned. I’ve had the pleasure to meet my Bob Tiffin at Quartzsite and at Tiffin Rally’s. Bob even addressed a problem I had with my cargo latches, so my Tiffin will be my first coach and probably my last. I’m lucky I got in to the RV life when I did.

Great video and so true about it all. Thank you. I have been warning family, friends, random people about the current events very long time ago and we are here now. There’s no way out of this inflation, zero chance. It’s everywhere it’s it’s here to stay. We are luck that we sold property in NYC just on time before COVID, luckily bought beautiful house in CT back in 2015, great timing. Renting it now so we are pretty safe. The gap just grew in huge ways, people from NYC are renting in our area for insane amount of money. They don’t even blink. Have been blessed in so many ways but I do worry daily about those people that are completely unprepared. So sad, really really sad what’s going on for so long and most don’t want to see. It’s truly time to figure things out. There’s always a way and everyone can figure something out if you don’t give up. Most importantly try to think outside the box and do what most would not. You will end up on the right side 80% of the time. Good luck everyone and stay happy and healthy.

Spent last year getting my 5th wheel off-grid ready, and ready to travel the country (or hole up if times get too dark). In a couple of months, I will be debt free and full of freedom. Dark times are coming...

Thank you, I agree - A Business man friend who found himself in a pinch once told me "When you owe as much money as I do, they don't want you to go bankrupt, they restructure your debt." I rarely discuss politics or religion, and then only discuss, not argue. I gave up arguing a long time ago, arguing is for the most part useless. I do my best to be respectful to all regardless of status, and I do not have to like someone to be polite.

I am 62 and hubby 67, our parents were depression teens. They are now all gone, but we were taught very well I agree all the ones who use social media more than our generation have thrown bad words more than they should. In 2019 I was laying down wood flooring and God said get your house in order. This was before I was to have my physical life change cane, walker due to work and neuropathy, I paid off all my credit card debt and started saving and then I had to retire so morale of the story only pay cash and [ay off your bills One son is a homesteader my older son is a fly by your pants and buy buy buy they are 37 and 38 years old. I have an extra room and bathroom if he and wife bottom out financially

What a great video Alan, boy do I remember 2008, 2009 working in the automotive industry at that time, and still, fortunately, Ford did not take the bailout, we had a great CEO, Alan Mullally, he forecasted that coming, he did mortgage the Blue Oval, but thankfully it all worked out well to our advantage. I remember what we called the 'White Boxes' coming down the halls, if the box landed on your desk, they walked you out immediately, you could not even say goodbye to your friends. I'm very Blessed that did not happen to me. -John

I live in Elkhart Indiana where almost all RV'S are built. Business is booming but getting harder to get parts. My husband works at Lazy days and they just built a new show room and getting ready to build a 30 bay parts and service center. So far not slowing down here. We also are getting a massive Amazon center. The only problem now is housing.

First time viewer. Love the hill country too. My grandpa was born in Texas. Retired trucker (health reasons) but still follow the industry. Prices for class 8 commercial trucks are sky high too! What ought to be a $40K truck is now anywhere from $80-$120K! Trailers too. For a while, freight rates were pretty high, but have been falling the past month. Fuel... we all know that story. As a guy who used to work the oil fields, the BEST solution to high fuel is let the oil companies drill and get government out of the way. No clever government shell games... just let 'em drill without government intervention. Lower fuel costs translate to lower groceries among other things, rv prices, etc. And yes, more civility in our society. I know people are stressed, but all the more reason to treat one another as the brothers and sisters we are. God bless all!

As a 70 year old I know he speaks the truth. We are headed for some very dark years economically. It's going to be especially hard this time because we just came off dark years due to Covid. There is hope though, dark days don't last forever and we'll get through them just like we always have. Hunker down, get conservative with your spending and you should be ok.

I’ll tell you this much. I would rather live in an RV and living in a house or an apartment. Because when the market does burst and it crashes guess what happens everyone living in a home or an apartment or a condo they’re going to be evicted and everyone will be living out on the streets that’s why I would prefer to live out of an RV and consider it a home it’s called a roof over your head

Good rant. I worked 30+yrs for a fortune 50 company then the 6th largest bank in the US for 6 yrs. During my career I got an MBA. We do kick things down the road. After the 2008 mortgage crisis, some controls where put in place. in ~2017 many got rolled back. Our memory is short. Moderate inflation is OK, < 5%. More, not so much. The people most impacted will be ones with variable rate loans. My first house had a mortgage of 13% in 1983 and I was glad to get it. People how have variable rate mortgages will see max increases over the next couple of yrs and it will hurt. People who have

Remember the "Boat People" in SE Asia from the mid '70s Vietnam mess? Our wonderful country has the "RV People". Basically the homeless who live in RVs with expired tags and are no longer mechanically operable. They do have a roof over their heads. These upper level hobos are higher up on the social strata than the "Tent People" who in turn, enjoy a better life than those condemned to living in a Homeless Shelter.
