Hey Matt, great videos! Can you do one on the unwritten rules?

Hey Matt, what's it like playing with foreign players who don't speak English as a first language?

One of the base coaches is usually the infield instuctor and the other is the outfield instructor a lot of times. So in pre game activities they help instruct players on how to field their positions.

quick question, does a first base coach scream “back” when a pitcher throws over?
@jordanwest43 Жыл бұрын
That was beautifully illustrated.

So if the guy on first is a good base-stealer, and has the green light almost always, when the third base coach gives out signs, that is usually given for the batter to understand what's going down, correct? Are there differences on when the manager wants his guy to steal a base and gives the sign to him, compared to when the guy always have the green light; like does the base stealer sort of know when the manager wants him to steal a base? I hope this makes sense. Great video, and keep up the great work!

Sometimes the steal comes from the manager and sometimes it is from the runner. It really depends. Thanks for watching!

hey Matt thanks, am a ex( a goalie at that) hockey player , who got a job coaching , and i ended up being a asist coach for a travel team( ll U. i had no idea other then remind them to take a larger lead , cause i always let the head coach make those calls. Am learning a lot about being a coach and but kinda lost because i learn baseball in the streets like the sandlot movie. Also am kinda coach like i rises which is from a hockey back round ; which was practice like u play a game , i want to run them more but my boys are country club types and there parents handcuff us. so i got to deal with that mindset. Any tips for on being a coach /first base coach.

Isn't is better strategy to be more aggressive and take risks when behind runs? In this case upside worth more than downside.
@AntonelliBaseball6 жыл бұрын
Not sure about that. Depends how many you are behind I guess. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Pardon my ignorance. I watch a lot of baseball, so I understand the first base coach job. I understand the third base coach job. I understand the pitching coach's job. I understand the batting coach's job. But what the heck is the bench coach's job?

Ever see this happen: 3rd base coach is waving guy home, but he stops. Coach asks,"why did you stop?" Runner says,"Sorry but I REALLY like fruit cup." ;)
