As for the Ginn, it's likely that it's model number refers to something(possibly October 17/10-17?), but as there are quite a number of events that happen on that date, what it references SPECIFICALLY, I am unsure. >Orb Union MBF-P(Main Battle Figure - Prototype) MBF-M1: Main Battle Figure - M1 MBF-M1A: Main Battle Figure - M1 Amended/Advanced(assumed) MVF: Main Variable Figure(assumed) >Civilians MWF: Mobile Work Figure/Mobile Worker Frame(assumed)

@@ZAK31591 It's possibly a class argument there. The English language is part Germanic and part Latin. The same way that there are French terms in English that note a class difference in the use of the language (beef vs. cow, poultry vs. chicken), it's possible that a class argument exists where the Germanic terms are supposed to look "less dignified" but also "less snobbish" than the Latin terms, which are meant to be "advanced" but also "arrogant".

9:19 That's not unusual. In WWII, Germany regularly used its own naming/numbering scheme for captured equipment/equipment produced by conquered countries that was put into German service. An easy example of this is the Panzer 38(t) light tank. This tank was built in Czechoslovakia, under the Czech military designation "LT vz. 38" which stood for "Light Tank Model 38". When Germany annexed Czechoslovakia, these tanks were put into German service, under the designation "Panzerkampfwagen 38(t)", with the "t" standing for "tschechisch", the German word for "Czech".

7:10 Honestly I was expecting the slash numbers to mean updates. With things like rifles you get model numbers, and back when they used model numbers after first production years (and because of bureaucracy those don't even line up great). The Carcano M1891 was more or less first produced in 1891. However, sometimes a significantly upgraded design comes out, and a new standard to produce the same rifle gets a new model number year. However, because the older guns still exist, refurbishing and upgrading them to this new standard produces a slash in the model number. The Carcano M91/38 is a M1891 with parts swapped out (rechambered and rebarrelled for a better type of bullet in this case) to fit a new 1938 standard. It gets weird sometimes because many of these slash numbers don't even imply the existence of a non-slash new model. The Finnish Mosin-Nagant M91/24 were upgrades of Russian surplus rifles (original M1891 Russian models in this case) but this was done not to cut costs, but that the Finns didn't even have factories or production capacity to even make new rifles to begin with; there is no way for there to be just a "M24" model in this case. Later the Finns would make M27 and M28 designations from more bought out Mosins, but also with bought out parts (entirely new barrels mostly) that were enough of a change to warrant a non-slash model number. So I was ready to think that X1/3 was just an earlier X1 model that had some parts upgraded to meet a newer X3 standard... then the X3/3 comes along there.

@@MusicFan752 The American and/or Western audience for Gundam is also not helped by the fact that there is a rather severe split down the middle of it. The one half is capable of enjoying Gundam in its entirety, even the series that had their potential ruined by behind the scenes drama like Seed Destiny. But that's a whole other can of worms. The other half however, are what I've dubbed as "The UC Purists", the people who think that Bandai/Sunrise should only ever make Universal Century Gundam anime. When the irony is, making only UC anime is what almost caused the Gundam franchise to implode in the first place. They'd spent close to 15 years making nothing but UC anime, from the Original 1979 series to, I forget what exactly, the furthest series out from the original I can think of is either 08th MS team or Victory Gundam in the early 90s, and you've got Zeta/ZZ... Okay I think Victory came soon after that given the art style, then we got 0080, 0083, 08th MS Team, those three had a very distinct look indicative of advancing technology and being able to put more detail into the artwork. I'm sure I probably missed something in there, but you get the general idea I hope. I know it sounds crazy, but trust me, these UC Purist people do exist.

10:46 If I had to to guess, the best I can can come up with is Aile 4 Enhancement 1. The 4 is probably the design version of the Aile pack (simulated model numbers are taken) and the E1 probably designates an overhaul that didn't necessitate a full redesign of the pack (A bit like how the main differences between the M1 Abrams and the M1A Abrams are mostly internal) -As for AQM/E, best I got is Armament ??? Material/ Equipment.- The AQM designation is probably there to differentiate between hot swappable striker packs and something that needs a refit of the unit. Edit: someone had a better possible option of the AQM designation: Armament, Quick change, Mounted so I'm using that. The "M" in AQM/E-M1 _might_ stand for "Munitions" since both are seen on HEAVILY armed packs (one packing what looks to be siege cannons and the other having all sorts of goodies to fire off.

I think the M in both the AQM/E M1 and M11 stands for Munitions, as both were heavy gun Striker Packs. The reason why they were named with "M" when the Launcher wasn't would simply be down to the Launcher being Experimental at the time. Where as the M1 is the Munitions version of the Aile which was already proven at that time. The M-11 could simply be the 11th idea or the as stated the result of simulations between 2-10 not working or not being deployed.

The D on D-Day still debated to this day. A tank is an armoured fighting vehicle but AFV is a generic term and it's called tank due to highly secretive nature of development during WW1 to which the Brits wanted the Germans to think that it was a water or fuel tank. So either both can be applied to G in SEED. That's my take on it.

I don't know why, but the number sequence of the G-weapons never stuck with me so in my head the Dual and the Buster were always more specialized units built on the strike frame, which was generic and swapped packs for different jobs. But I guess it was the other way around, the strike was a less specialized unit built on the dual frame. This also brings to mind another question, why were the daggers built on the strike pattern instead of the dual pattern? It would seem that the dual was the better choice for a generic assault mobile suit as it would not have all the fancy hardpoints and wiring for striker packs that most would never use. Also, you left out the Mobius Zero and its derivatives.

To be fair Orb produce far less kinds of mobile suits than the 2 major factions in Seed There is basically 3 kinds of MS and its variants -MBF-P01 to MBF-P05 (the 5 Gundam Astrays) -MBF-M1 and MBF-M1A( M1 Astrays and its space variants) -MVF-M11C and MVF-M12C for Murasame and Ootsukigata For both the Astrays and M1s its easy enough MBF stands for Main Battle Figure and P stands for prototype (For the Astrays) and M1 stands for Model 1( For M1) with "A" being the space variants designation for M1 (For M1A Astrays) MVF in Murasame and Ootsukigata likely stands for Main Variable Figure since they are transformable, and M11C could possibly be Model 1 Type 1C (There maybe other explanation to the M11C but since Murasame is the first mass-produced transformable MS for Orb and and they named their first mass-produced MS with model 1 I think this is reasonable, with type 1 being base model and C being the 3rd---and first to be mass produced---variants of Murasame)With Ootsukigata having similar story (M12A: Model 1 Type 2A,as Ootsukigata is a modification of Murasame for space use, hence the second variant for space use) Lastly there is ORB-01 which I don't think I need to explain And before you asked,DSSD Astrays and Raysta are not Orb-produced MS so they are not in this list For the Flight Rotar Shrike EF-24R,maybe it stands for Extended Flight-24 Rotary/Rotor? Strangely there isn't a standalone designation for Murasame Reconnaissance type, maybe the tail stabilizer is interchangeable with the reconnaissance radome? P.S: I just remembered the MBF-02 Strike Rouge, which still held similar model designation

ORB is the only faction that use Gundam looking head design for mass produced units.

I know this was posted in another video, but it has been at the back of my mind ever since I watched Gundam the origin. Out of morbid curiosity, how many people died across the universal century? To be more clear I mean civilian casualties, some sources say 6.5 billion but I am not so sure.

@@echos5823 Holy Shit !! but thanks, wait but what about zeta, double zeta, unicorn, and CCA. Because Riddhe said there are still 10 billion and Full frontal 2 billion for Earth alone unless the population exited around 20 billion before the OYW.
