I tried Ace hardware ! Lowe's and Home Depot for parts.... And they proved to be okay but eBay has everything !!! Old temperate torsion springs 2 for $129... I charge $195 per spring... Extension rebuild kits $36 on eBay, Rollers 10 for $18 !!!! I charge $475 for extension.. it takes 10 minutes.. customers are happy and clueless 😊

Back in the 90s when my dad started his business the phone book had only DOORS as the sub heading in the phone book. He was the one who called the phone book people and had them create the sub heading GARAGE DOORS under G. It was literally a multi million dollar idea. He wasn't really around a whole lot because of the drugs that came with it but i did get to meet him before he died. Thabk you for your videos and whst you do. Im going to try to keep his business going for namesake. He taught me that working for yourself is the best option and I've always been wasting my time. He only did commercial doors though. Started residential. I really would rather just not do residential but I may have to grow up to get that phone ringing.

37:04 that’s hilarious that you bring up precision in that scenario I don’t know if we’re talking about the same precision I’m in Detroit but there’s a precision Doors here in Detroit that is absolutely horrible. They sell springs for $1800 and column lifetime springs because her powder coated.

Question. You were talking about yahoo yelp, I agree with your opinion on those two. Google is the way to go. My question is how important in your experience is branding ie your business name, you had mentioned your business name is because it put you at the top of the phone book, now that it's a a Google search to find whatever service you need, what advertisement would you spend most of your advertisement budget on. Phone, website,local news papers, yard signs. In your years of experience moving forward as the times have changed what advertisement are you pushing that you feel is going to work in your area. I have purchased the business that I ran for 7 years. Now that I own the business and have built a good customer base. I'm considering branding. I keep 2 of each spring size from 207x2x26 - 250x2x30 207, 218, 225, 234, 243, & 250.. with these coil sizes you can match most ippts you need to get a door balances. Keep in mind the inside diameter of the spring as well as the length will change the ippts.

This applys for residential not commercial btw.. I dont even carry my commercial springs on my truck.
